Hi everyone!
Jerry gave me some homework. Can you help me with it, please? ( •̯́ ^ •̯̀)
He wants me to ask if there's such a thing as going “too far” to protect someone you love. What extent would you go to protect others? Would you physically harm them if it meant saving them from harm?
Oh, you can respond with video or call or text or whatever, that's fine! If you want to talk to each other too, that'll probably help, also.
Thank you! ₊˚⊹♡

dont give a shit about what he thinks
if he wants to give you homework or whatever he can get out here and start helping out himself
[this is what you wanted right]
no subject
He'd probably say something like "rebuilding is your task" or whatever
But I'm kinda curious now! What do you think about protecting others?

No.
There is no such thing as too far or too much.

If that person gets hurt 'cause of what you did, I guess that would be too far, right?

I think the important part is to consider the feelings of those you want to protect. Sometimes what we think might be the best for them isn't actually the case.
Do you remember a couple of months back, I thought I would save everyone from suffering by doing something terrible?
[It's been long enough that he's comfortable enough to talk about it, but he still doesn't want to say out loud that he killed Kotone and a bunch of other people because of such reasoning.]
I went too far in trying to "protect" people back then. (╯︵╰,)
🥺
But I see what you mean...
How do we know when it's our own feelings and our own thoughts...?
Plus, I want to protect everyone, but then they get mad if I put myself in danger to do it.
["They" of course usually being "Scott."]

Why did you get "homework" from Jerry?
[ Ange knows what homework means in this context, obviously. But she's more just curious if it was a random thing - since that does seem to happen - or that Kotone's been Up to something.. ]
no subject
You know how Scott was in the hospital when the Black Beast attacked...?
That was my fault. (◞‸◟,)

I think...I think I'd try to avoid harming them, if at all possible.
And see if there was another way to save them

I don't believe there is a right or wrong answer for this topic. People will do whatever they feel they must without much regard to anything else. Their actions will depend upon what the threat is.

no there isn't
[ Given his recent escapades, this one probably shouldn't come as a big surprise.
He's probably not helping either of their sentencing with this response, but oh well! ]

Whatever. This one's easy enoughー there's never a "too far" involved when it comes to protecting what's dear to you. Even if it means having to use force to stop 'em from doing something they'd regret later.
no subject
That makes a lot of sense, but what about if you're the one who ends up regretting using force later...? Like, it turns out you were wrong...

what extent would i go? as far as i can take it.
would you physical harm them if it means saving them? probably! most definitely.
well, that killed 3 mins. what's next, miss popular? are we going to paint the town blue? spice up the crumbling buildings so they have more personality?
no subject
What do you mean you'd "most definitely" hurt someone to keep them safe? Isn't that, like, the opposite??

On one hand, I feel like I would fo anything to protect the people I care for.
But I also feel there's lines that shouldn't be crossed.
Still, to save someone I care about, maybe I would, if I couldn't find any other alternatives.

I get that it's more complicated than that in practice, though.

I could give you some examples that I've been dragged into only within the last year, although I am not sure if that won't be too private.

[Horrible. Awful. Now this guy is acting like a teacher on top of being their jailer? Gross.]
anyway i guess i'd say not really but it's more
depends what too far means?
like, what are you protecting them from? what'll they regret more when it's over?
that's the part that's the most important, i think
it's gotta be about what's good for them, not just how you feel about it
long as you've got that straight i don't think there's a too far
no subject
[Giving her sentencing, anyway. Beyond that, she has no idea what judges do or are like outside of TV.]
You make it sound super easy, but what if you're not sure about what's good for someone...? Like, I always want to protect my friends. They're really important to me and I don't want them to get hurt. But then they get mad at me for taking risks, or I hurt people by accident...

But I must reply as ‘yes’.You may have saved the person you love from doom, but for what price? Are you willing to accept the consequences for your action?
no subject
It's hard to know what the consequences might be when you're just focused on protecting somebody in the moment, I think
