[Tablet users will receive a message from a girl looking to be somewhere in her teens. Her voice is almost monotonous, and her expressions are also rather reserved.]
Hello. I am Echo. I've been wondering about something, and thought gathering additional information would be helpful.
[Get used to this, all she ever used the network for in her last world was asking questions.]
Regarding these "crimes", has anyone found the accusation to be... oddly lenient?
[Her head tilts just slight to one side.]
For example, perhaps you were charged with the simple theft of a piece of fruit when it would not be out of the question to be accused of a deliberate arson attack. Or do the unspecified powers that be not involve themselves with acts that are traditionally considered to be the most severe?
Thank you.
[She gives the camera a brief polite bow.]

can't say i have that problem actually. the punishment still seems to be living here no matter what they think you did. at least until they finally start giving us dates to be sentenced [ And presumably dole out something worse...... ]

That's a good point. I know some people whose crimes are fairly serious...but it's not universal. Mine is tame by comparison.
[... If you could even call it a crime, really. But it's true that he's done arguably worse than what he's been charged with.]

She gives a single nod.]
I am not very familiar with the details of most of the other so-called "Chosen", but I feel my charge at least is... an odd choice. Might yours have been worse?
no subject
It should have been. I'm not sure what I've been charged with should really count as a crime in the first place...and not for lack of better options.

[ Hi, Echo. Here is Ange - being informative, as she promised.
It's not like Echo isn't bringing up a good point, after all. And Ange is always willing to have discussions about this place and its nature with people who are willing to consider this place in a serious sort of way. ]
So I imagine they just picked completely at random. I don't think there's any reason to it.

[This was definitely a new twist. Maybe she was just imagining the problems she thought one little piece of paper was referencing.]
Were any potential crimes ever committed by these people to your knowledge?
no subject
I haven't asked.
[ So, no knowledge there. ]
I just remember them bringing up that they never committed the crime that was described on their paper. Which made sense to me, since I felt like the whole 'crime and punishment' thing was a cover from the start.

I see. What do you think is really behind it, then?

I, for one, would not necessarily state that it is "lenient." Mayhap open to interpretation instead.
[ He had only carried with him the hopes and wishes of everyone from that time. G'raha doesn't know if that makes it any less a crime. ]
What I do know is that if I were to be given that choice again, I would still make the same one. The alternative shouldn't ever be considered an option.

I am not questioning what was presented. While I am not entirely clear on mine, most of the possibilities are for things I believed to be important.
[Ditching Vincent for Oz and taking down Duldee weren't things she would go back on either in spite of the negative results that also happened. The severity of some of said results is what got her so curious.]
Ignoring something that is generally perceived to be worse than the accusal is what I'm inquiring about.

a) Cause emotional trauma
b) The person has no intention of repenting over
c) Test to see how we view one other's crimes
Or it could be for a completely something well beyond the thought processes of mere mortals. After all, we haven't been graced with their objectives in bringing us here at all.
Text;
Most of these sound like tests of some sort, however. I cannot see a reason why our accusers would care about doing that. Their mysterious nature makes it quite difficult to determine anything.
Text;
If they have a mechanism to bring back the dead, they have the mechanism to manipulate us to fall in line or be disposed of.

[which is annoying!! if there was a pattern, there might be an answer, which might get them closer to understanding how this place works.]

[Echo is a very big fan of answers herself, yes. She's getting answers, but they aren't helpful in the grand scheme.]

[Caitlyn hasn't exactly gone around and pried that information out of everyone. She really only knows about the people she's close with, and the ones she's seen blabbing about it on the network.]
