Greetings to all of Aldrip. My name is Abe no Seimei and I come bearing warnings and offerings.

Some time within the last month, pieces of a resident called Dara have been taken from her and spread throughout the city. While macabre on its own, these pieces will also soon begin to radiate harmful miasma into the air and effect all living things in the surrounding area. The effects are not unlike an illness--sluggishness, soreness, chills and so on, but continued exposure will not only worsen the effects on your body but your mind, bringing fear, despair, violent urges...if left unchecked, it will eventually suffocate all it touches.

As part of my duties back home, I have extensive experience mitigating and cleansing such miasma. I am, however, only one man and certain we've all noticed the city's sudden growth recently.

In exchange for assistance in the search for these missing pieces, I am offering personally charmed talismans to significantly lessen the effects of the miasma in tainted areas and cleansing to those who have already felt its effects. You will find me on the main road between the inn and the library.

[ Oof, Scott chose the complicated word. He doesn't feel unfriendly towards her or anything, it's just his own issues that make him pause for perhaps a little too long before answering. ]

We're academic peers. She's a bright, remarkable mind it would be a shame to lose unnecessarily.

There is a possibility, but the most concentrations I've seen thus far have been contained to the city. Should we manage to clear enough for proper safe refuges for its uninvolved residents, and we find any pieces are missing, I will organize an effort to spread the search further.
