A question for the Chosen: why have you not banded together already? Some arrivals go back to almost a year, and yet you're still here. You're not without skill. There are summoners, magic users, and bomb makers in this city. Directed efforts could surely overpower our captors if there was direction.

Possibly there are those who want to stay here. Those who are dead in the world that they come from. But what of the ones who want to go home? What do they say? Are they just content to live their lives here while they have unfinished business at home?

It's possible that some of the lack of action is complacency. But others... may be a lack of leadership. Instead of waiting around for someone to save you, have you considered that you might be able to take charge of your situation? What holds you back? The Council? Jerry? That is one man, and an entity that we haven't seen thus far.

For now, it's food for thought. But I'd be interested to know who would actually be interested in leaving this place, instead of playing house in a world that dictates their actions. For those who may want to stay... what would life be like without the "Council" watching your every move?

As you have said, for some of us, this is the only time we have left. I do not begrudge those who wish to return, and I know it cannot last forever. But it is the reason I am happy enough to play along for now.

That said, how do you plan to get people home? Are you capable of traversing worlds so easily? 'Tis a rare ability, and one not so easily accomplished by the average man. We also have no concept of the mechanism that has brought us here in the first place...

I'm not sure yet. That's something that'd have to be looked into with cooperation from the others. There's power in numbers and a collaborative effort though, which is why I'm gauging interest in how many people would actually like to work together.

You are not wrong, though it occurs to me, for all this talk of rebellion and uprising: has no one truly tried to be diplomatic yet via the avenues we have access to? I've heard of aggressive encounters and other such nonsense at city hall, but never someone going in earnest to talk with him.

You would think it would've been tried already. But if it was something as simple as arranging a meeting with someone, I believe information in general would be much easier to come by.

I've already been entrusted with a task that involves speaking to Jerry about some questions, so I'll have to see for myself how difficult it is to actually gain an audience with him. It seems like many people who've approached him in the past have been... perhaps less than polite about it. But of course, we are a group of criminals, after all; he may just be extra cautious about being approached by one of us.

That's what they like to call us, criminals... but I'm more inclined to believe it's a label they put on us to make us feel as if we're less than them.

But sure, go ahead and try. I'd be curious to see what you can gain from it.

I don't disagree. Some of the "crimes" I have seen people charged with are contrived at best. That's not to mention the additional crimes some people get charged with after clearing the first one. It's a pretense to keep us here.

I believe a cooler head can prevail in this case, though. We desperately need the clarity, if naught else.

Of course. It's a classic case of misdirection, and unfortunately a lot of the Chosen fall for it.

I'm not opposed to a diplomatic approach, I just don't have any personal experience where it works on a group of people like this.

While I hesitate to call myself a leader enough to organize this many people at once for any other purpose, such as William did for capturing the rotted creature, I am much better equipped for diplomacy and political efforts. Few are, it seems, so perhaps the skill will prove useful here. 'Twas my responsibility back home. I don't doubt there will be questions he'll refuse to answer, or answers I may not want to hear, but holding one's tongue can be an important skill as well.

Though... I do wonder if he reads all this...

Yes, it does seem that gentle words are a rarity in our fellow Chosen.

It could be. It's a much smaller test of mine -- if controversial topics or threats were to be mentioned on the network in an anonymous fashion, would they find out who it was anyway? They seem to know a great deal about us, but they seem to reply more to actions more than words.
