A question for the Chosen: why have you not banded together already? Some arrivals go back to almost a year, and yet you're still here. You're not without skill. There are summoners, magic users, and bomb makers in this city. Directed efforts could surely overpower our captors if there was direction.

Possibly there are those who want to stay here. Those who are dead in the world that they come from. But what of the ones who want to go home? What do they say? Are they just content to live their lives here while they have unfinished business at home?

It's possible that some of the lack of action is complacency. But others... may be a lack of leadership. Instead of waiting around for someone to save you, have you considered that you might be able to take charge of your situation? What holds you back? The Council? Jerry? That is one man, and an entity that we haven't seen thus far.

For now, it's food for thought. But I'd be interested to know who would actually be interested in leaving this place, instead of playing house in a world that dictates their actions. For those who may want to stay... what would life be like without the "Council" watching your every move?

A leader needs trust and respect in order to lead effectively. No one person interested in a leadership position has earned that from enough people to make for a lasting united effort.

Trust and respect could also be earned by deeds. Or desperation, if a group of people need someone who will guide them to success.

The situation here might not be conducive to desperation yet, but do you honestly think it'd last forever?

I don't. The complacency or the desperation, whenever it comes. It's conducive to making quick decisions, yes, but not necessarily good ones, and I would consider choosing a leader to be something important enough to not be spur of the moment if it can be helped.

And yes, trust is earned through deeds. Deeds that objectively and visibly benefit those one is trying to lead over a decent period of time, not only days or weeks as an example.

So then why haven't we considered the idea of it before? I'm not saying that it has to be an anonymous face such as myself [lol] but one would think preparations should be made.

There was a leader who accepted the title for the monster for example, but would he be able to lead against every threat? Would he want to? It's probably one of the only reasons why the monster was dealt with efficiently to begin with. We need more like that in the case something similar happens.

The person above me makes a good point for why not, I believe. Eager as we are to protect ourselves and the people who've given us homes, we are by and large a population of criminals. Individuals stepping up to lead or propose solutions for previous problems have been met with backlash.

I'm not disagreeing with you, mind. Only pointing out what could make this goal difficult.

There's always resistance in the beginning, especially with someone who keeps their identity secret. But how many of those that have tried to step up actually have results to their words?
