It seems that we have new arrivals here once more! Welcome, everyone. I'm Ethlyn.

Since many of us have martial skills, the locals often hire us to hunt dangerous beasts outside of town, and in March we had to go on a lengthy expedition through the forest... suffice it to say, as peaceful as Aldrip itself is, there are dangers around it if you aren't careful. And while I'm sure that appeals to an adventurous spirit in some of you, I'm going to advise you all to be cautious and prepare well if you make an expedition outside of town.

Which brings me to the Arztenritter. Think of us as a band of knights--except instead of bringing a sword or a lance, we bring first aid. Right now, the Arztenritter is me, Marianne, Rinoa, Młynar, Noel, and Astralin. If you find yourself in a pickle, call one of us and we'll ride out to help!

And, if you have any interest in healing and horseback riding, tell me! I'm always happy to add more people to our ranks.

[well, that's a relief. she'll actually be able to be useful here. and since magic is more accepted in this world than it is on the Earth she knows, she wouldn't have to hide that aspect of herself.]

It depends on where you're from. My kind of healing abilities draw on the life from the ground around me. Unfortunately, depending on the extent of the damage to another person, it may kill some nearby plants, but not always. Sometimes they're more resilient than they look.

[baldrshand]

Well, that's unlucky for the plants, but I would put a life above a lawn myself. Do you use anything as a focus, like a staff?

[caregives]

[she shakes her head.]

There's some who need them, but I don't -- I have earth magic, so I just take what's already around me.

[baldrshand]

I see! That's very different to how magic works in my world, but quite interesting. I'm glad that being taken to a different world didn't disrupt your ability to use it.

[caregives]

It's definitely a relief.

[a pause, then a curious:]

How does your magic work, then?

[baldrshand]

I channel my magical strength through something else--much the same way I channel my physical strength through a sword in combat, if that makes sense. In the case of healing, I have a staff that's also imbued with strong magic that can cleanse and mend wounds.

[caregives]

That's so interesting.

[she can't help it. she really does like talking to other healers, especially since she hadn't come across one in so long.]

May I see it one day? ... If that's not too much to ask for someone you just met, at least.

Of course! I'd be happy to show you. I wouldn't mind seeing how you do magic, either.

[caregives]
