OKCINDR POST #6

Ever wanted to have CR with a character and wasn't sure how to get them to cross paths? Wanted a dating app so you can hook up with hot people? Wanted to just find friends because you're a lonely bastard?

With the update of the tablets and the apps, we now have a dating / friendship app called OKCINDR! Players can use it as they please for the two months that it's up -- just imagine that they're profiles to swipe right on and everything. The idea is to encourage CR that may be difficult to get with characters who may or may not be interested in events / posts / logs / other network posts.

So, on March 2nd, characters randomly look back at their tablets to see the following:

OKCINDR PROFILE RESET #6
PLEASE RESET PROFILE

This month, if players reset their profile, they will have a list of questions to answer:

- What is the maximum amount of sheep you have counted when trying to fall asleep?
- what is the real you?
- will you still love someone if they're no longer themselves?
- what is a wish
- what are you prepared to do to have your wish fulfilled? would you die for it? kill for it?
- what kind of world do you wish for?
- are all wishes equal?
- does everyone deserve to have their wish come true?
- do you think your wish is more important than the wishes of others?
- will your wish coming true make you truly happy?

Players, of course, are able to ignore this message. However, if a character wouldn't fill it out but a player would like to participate... the profile mysteriously resets itself. There may even be responses sent from Character A to Character B without Character A actually doing anything, if you'd like! This is a completely opt-in scenario! But for players who would like to participate fill out the post:

network profile
Character_Name
@username
ABOUT_ME

If you'd like to for shits and giggles, here's some notifications that may be used:

Name (@username) followed you

Name (@username) unfollowed you

Name (@username) blocked you

Have fun! Code credit.

there's no point of that for an android.

the wolves are intelligent. guess the machine must've studied them at some point.

How come? I think it would be nice if androids can dream, too.

Maybe the wolves can dream, if they're smart enough!

it doesn't serve any function. i don't sleep the way humans do.
maybe. don't think dreaming's gonna help them right now, though.

It doesn't need to have a function or anything. It can be something you could do just because it's fun!

How do you sleep, though?

[personal profile] abandonware 2025-03-15 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
what's so fun about it? sounds boring. it's just sleeping with extra steps.

[Cranky.]

i go into a low function rest mode. that's boring too.
luneminary: (58.)

[personal profile] luneminary 2025-03-17 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I guess just going on rest mode sounds a bit boring.

But dreaming is not like that! You get to imagine a lot of things that don't happen in real life, for example! It's like a simulation, preparing yourself for the future!
abandonware: https://www.pixiv.net/en/users/12576068 ([ 89. ])

[personal profile] abandonware 2025-03-18 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
a simulation, like what this place is.

it doesn't bother you?
luneminary: (08.)

[personal profile] luneminary 2025-03-18 06:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Not really. This place might be a simulation, but everything we experience and feel about it is still real, you know? So maybe it's not as fake as the term implies.

It does make me wonder if this, too, is a dream. If it's something we'll eventually wake up from.
abandonware: ([ 18. ])

[personal profile] abandonware 2025-03-20 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
how can you be so sure it's real?
i thought dreams were fake.
luneminary: (22.)

[personal profile] luneminary 2025-03-20 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
They are, but that doesn't mean the way we react to them are fake as well.

The emotions we feel, those aren't orchestrated by some other machine. They are all our own and nobody else's.
abandonware: ([ 64. ])

[personal profile] abandonware 2025-03-23 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
that's an optimistic way to look at it.
luneminary: (10.)

[personal profile] luneminary 2025-03-24 06:37 am (UTC)(link)
You disagree with it, don't you?
abandonware: ([ 21. ])

[personal profile] abandonware 2025-03-25 04:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[...]

ah. it's hard for me to believe.
in my world, machines aren't capable of... all of this. but they're capable of manipulation.
making others believe things that aren't true. playing with your mind.
luneminary: (68.)

[personal profile] luneminary 2025-03-26 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
So that's why. I can see how it could be hard to trust what you see and feel when you've been in the receiving end of that kind of manipulation.

I wish there's something I could say to help, but I think the only thing one can do is to take a leap of faith: to choose to believe. Perhaps taking that chance is better than never believing in anything at all.
abandonware: ([ 22. ])

[personal profile] abandonware 2025-04-03 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
a leap of faith...

[It's hard to recall a time when she had been courageous enough to do such a thing — perhaps when she had hoped that she might join the resistance androids after her mission was over. When she'd thought that everyone would get out on the other side.

Anemone had done this, hadn't she? Survived and lived on to continue Rose's work, even knowing how it might turn out.

...]

maybe it is better.
i'd like to

[What to say... She couldn't lead like Rose or Anemone.]

make sure everyone is safe here.
everyone has been kind.
luneminary: (29.)

[personal profile] luneminary 2025-04-03 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
You're a very kind person yourself to say that.

My own experiences haven't been all good, but it's true that most of the people you meet here are very kind and considerate. I think it's good to feel that way.

[His own thoughts drift to people like Kotone and Minato and Scott and Aether, and the different ways they have all made him feel human. Even if he's not one.]

And whenever you still feel lost or lonely or unsure if everything is real, I think it's good to approach people you like about it! It's the connections that ground us...even if nothing else matters in this world, I'd like to think that bonds between individuals still do.

[Earlier in her time here, she would think to protest his notion that she's kind. By now, however... she knows that no matter she insists that the people here will insist otherwise. And besides, they're right — her kindness had been one of her most hated weaknesses. She has yet to understand why she doesn't see it as a weakness in others.]

bonds between individuals...
what if they go away? disappear.
that's what
[i'm afraid of, she almost says] i think about. what do you do?
luneminary: (68.)

[personal profile] luneminary 2025-04-08 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
[What would you do, indeed, when you are the representation of the very thing that makes some disappear. Death might not be permanent here, but it is in many other places, and when he comes to claim one's soul - that's it. That's the end.]

Even if people disappear, those bonds will never go away.

It might be painful, and it will get lonely, but I will cherish those memories that we spent.

I'd be glad that they happened in the first place rather than to know nothing, I think.

[Slowly, she turns his words over in her head.]

did you always feel that way?

[How did you grow beyond it, she wonders?]
luneminary: (71.)

[personal profile] luneminary 2025-04-20 03:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Not always, no.

[Not when he was Death. Not when he was Pharos. He couldn't understand why people bothered, back then. But then he became Ryoji Mochizuki, and realized what things were worth losing in the end.]

But then someone taught me that it was okay. To love and lose and to repeat that cycle over and over again.
abandonware: ([ 64. ])

[personal profile] abandonware 2025-04-22 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
i see. then you're fortunate.
don't think i have anyone left like that.
luneminary: (04.)

[personal profile] luneminary 2025-04-22 08:41 am (UTC)(link)
You're still alive, aren't you? You say that you don't anyone left, but there's still a future for you to look forward to.

That just means you still have to meet that person, I think!

you're a pretty optimistic guy.
...
maybe you're right. i don't know.
luneminary: (01.)

[personal profile] luneminary 2025-04-25 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha! I get that a lot. Still not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, though.

You won't really know until it happens, I think.

[She thinks, all of a sudden, of No. 4. No. 4 whose personality had been wiped away, her existence whittled down to nothing. But when she thinks of her optimism and kindness...]

it's a good thing. but you should be careful, anyway. the world isn't kind to people like you.
