OKCINDR POST #6

Ever wanted to have CR with a character and wasn't sure how to get them to cross paths? Wanted a dating app so you can hook up with hot people? Wanted to just find friends because you're a lonely bastard?

With the update of the tablets and the apps, we now have a dating / friendship app called OKCINDR! Players can use it as they please for the two months that it's up -- just imagine that they're profiles to swipe right on and everything. The idea is to encourage CR that may be difficult to get with characters who may or may not be interested in events / posts / logs / other network posts.

So, on March 2nd, characters randomly look back at their tablets to see the following:

OKCINDR PROFILE RESET #6
PLEASE RESET PROFILE

This month, if players reset their profile, they will have a list of questions to answer:

- What is the maximum amount of sheep you have counted when trying to fall asleep?
- what is the real you?
- will you still love someone if they're no longer themselves?
- what is a wish
- what are you prepared to do to have your wish fulfilled? would you die for it? kill for it?
- what kind of world do you wish for?
- are all wishes equal?
- does everyone deserve to have their wish come true?
- do you think your wish is more important than the wishes of others?
- will your wish coming true make you truly happy?

Players, of course, are able to ignore this message. However, if a character wouldn't fill it out but a player would like to participate... the profile mysteriously resets itself. There may even be responses sent from Character A to Character B without Character A actually doing anything, if you'd like! This is a completely opt-in scenario! But for players who would like to participate fill out the post:

network profile
Character_Name
@username
ABOUT_ME

If you'd like to for shits and giggles, here's some notifications that may be used:

Name (@username) followed you

Name (@username) unfollowed you

Name (@username) blocked you

Have fun! Code credit.

You're 26? I pegged you for older.

So do our janitors, and they never graduated at all.

You DO realize that it makes you insisting on having that weird little thing with me all the weirder? Like a teenage girl pursuing a bloody old geezer.
mightymorphin: (C; throw away all your money)

well unlike a teenager, I pay taxes. and they don't kick me out of bars.

I'm far from being a kid, Nura.

Yes, yes, you're a full whole 4 years legal already. Or was it 5?
mightymorphin: (C; running through hell)

[personal profile] mightymorphin 2025-03-04 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
did they even have drinking laws when you were born?

Not really. But most wouldn't let you have alcohol as long as you were still considered "a kid."

I received my coming of age ceremony only between the age of 13 and 14, which made me quite the late bloomer. I could have gone a lot sooner but my background made it hard for a couple of reasons.

woah, hold on, are you saying you had to get a job and start paying taxes at thirteen?

and you're trying to say I'M too young???

You could receive the genpuku anytime between the ages of 7 and 15 back in the Heian Era. After that you assumed your adult name and duties.

In my case that meant that I resumed my training at the temple, but shouldered more responsibility and was sent out on missions that could potentially kill me more freely. Most older folks still went somewhat easy on you until you were a teenager, though. I always hated that.

so that was a pretty short childhood, huh.

let's set aside whether you liked it or not, did you feel like you were ready for that?
mightymorphin: (C; i used to be a real go-getter)

[personal profile] mightymorphin 2025-03-04 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
being declared an adult that young? doing something so dangerous? take your pick.

it sounds pretty terrible from a modern perspective, but you're the guy that actually lived through it all.

[ Ah. ]

I was more than ready for it. It wasn't 'that young' back then, and I couldn't wait to shake off those useless dead weight adults that tried to use me just because I'm a family-less former orphan.

Which didn't mean that I didn't still have to arrange myself with adults, but being also considered an adult meant that they had to treat me as somebody on their own level rather than 'just a kid'.

As for the rest - I was gonna do it anyway, so I might as well do it in my own name.

hey, fair enough! if it was a good thing for you at the time, that's what matters more than anything else. and I get that it was a different era.

and you've been teaching for how many years now? you must practically be an expert on teenagers.

1050 years. That's about four or five times the age of your country.

But the only thing I ever learned about teaching others is that there's no way to become an 'expert' on them. They'll always find a way to surprise you.

I've also majorly taught adults who had a will to learn at first. I wouldn't have had what it takes to actually deal with children. Those tend to like me way more than I them.
mightymorphin: (C; might as well)

[personal profile] mightymorphin 2025-03-11 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
yeah yeah, anything compared to you is going to seem pretty young. you don't have to rub it in.

but you're a cool and mysterious guy, so of course kids like you. it's nice to know you can still be surprised, though.
