[Scott's been feeling all kinds of ways since returning to Aldrip. A little off his feet? Not upset exactly, not when he remembers everyone important to him, but it's still a lot. Kind of weird that he's actually older here than back home, and that's not mentioning suddenly getting almost two years of memories shoved inside his head that he completely forgot about until now. But he's trying. A part of him wants to just lie on the bed with Kotone and just take more time to himself, but he figures that he should say something to his friends.
Maybe focusing on them will help. Better than thinking about Alex or how Apocalypse sort of ruined everything back home.
He breathes in, fiddling with his tablet. Something in him wants to change his username from 'shades' to 'cyclops,' but maybe not right now.]
hey, i'm back now. sorry if i worried anyone. a lot happened, like, back home. yeah i went home and came back. i'm okay though.
[None of that sounded super awkward, right.]
if you wanna meet up, i'll be at the diner. you're paying though.
[ooc: Scott's back from his canon update and just Dealing with Stuff. Totally open to threading Scott meeting others in person! Also, he'll be back in regular clothes for the time being, but he will be wearing his visor for now.]

[He didn't think that was the actual reason... and now Scott's grinning brightly, nearly from ear to ear. Man, he really did miss out on a lot! And it was just a week. He wants to pester Morph more about how that particular gift went and how close they are with Nurarihyon, but Scott temporarily puts his questions on hold as Morph points out his new visor.
Oh right, this is new-- new to at least him wearing a visor now. He knows that the Scott in Morph's universe has been using something like this for a while. He's just finally stepped into that. And everything that it means. Being a X-Man.
His smile turns smaller, though it doesn't disappear, as he nods at the older mutant.]
The uniform's back at the house, but yeah. [...] It's really fitting, right?
[A simple question, but Scott may be asking that in a more loaded way.]

[Geez, and Scott looks awfully happy about it, too. Morph can easily imagine how much teasing they're going to be in for later... but they'd already told him that they were trying to woo Nurarihyon, and there was no way they'd miss out on Valentine's Day, even if finding the guy was easier said than done.
Morph loosely crosses their arms and leans back in their seat, considering that next question.] I'm used to seeing the older you in a yellow visor, but the silver is pretty slick. Has a real modern look to it.
[Whether or not it was fitting was the whole reason Morph was here. Yeah, part of it was that they wanted to check up on Scott and make sure whatever happened in his home world hadn't been too terrible, but there was another component to it that was just as important. As one of the older X-Men, they felt responsible for asking it, in a way.]
So... you've had time living here in Aldrip as a civilian mutant. And now, you got to go home and get the experience of being a part of the full team. I just gotta wonder how you're feeling about all of that.

It was going to happen at some point, right? [There's a flicker of something on Scott's face, something that's a little solemn because even if this was the expected outcome, it kind of sucks. He's proud being a X-Man? But the fact that it came to this at all...]
Things weren't going to be peaceful forever. Even though we all wanted that.

[Morph's heard enough by now to know that there are worlds where other types of non-human or not-quite-human people get to live without conflict, but that just didn't seem to be true for mutants anywhere. But they had to admit, it was Scott's world that had seemed like the nicer exception...]
I'm sorry it ended up that way. But y'know... improving things to the point that the X-Men get to retire is the goal. I know it's a little bleak that the team has to exist at all, but what we do does make things better, a little at a time.
no subject
[But... Morph's probably right. There has to be some universe out there where things are totally fine and great for mutants. A cynical part of him still wonders if that peace is only temporary for them too though, like his, that something inevitable will happen to change everyone's minds. But. He tries to shove that part of him down. He doesn't like being that way.
He has to believe in Xavier's dream. He wants to.]
Y-yeah, I know. [He nods, still carrying that more somber note but Scott isn't anywhere near beaten down. Be kind of sad since he literally just became a X-Men not too long ago. It's just hard in a lot of ways. He's sure that Morph understands, probably more than most. They've been doing this longer than him.] We're going to try and improve things too back home. Restore relations.
[No matter how long it takes. Will he get to retire? He bites his lip.] It's lasted for years before... so it can definitely happen again, right?
no subject
[Yes, Xavier was an idealist, but he was also one of the smartest people that Morph knew. It wasn't just that they wanted to believe in the dream, but that they thought it was possible to achieve. Maybe it'd be tough to get there, or maybe it'd take longer than anyone thought it would, but the alternatives were worse.
... Might be worse. What Genosha had been, what it promised for mutants, that's been stuck in Morph's mind a lot lately. That was in no small part thanks to Nura, and everything he'd said about what youkai had been able to make for themselves.]
And if there's one thing the X-Men are good at, it's bouncing back. So keep your chin up, kiddo.

Raven told him and the others that all of the original X-Men besides her and Hank are dead, but... guess that's where he and the new team comes in. If he thinks about it further, how he might have to expect that some of his friends may die, that anxiety from before returns, so he tries to shove it down for now.
He doesn't want to just be some anxious mess when he just came back. When he just reunited with another X-Man.]
By the way... have you and Rogue ever fought a mutant named Apocalypse?
no subject
[They lean back in their seat, crossing their arms over their chest, but any attempt at seeming casual is probably ruined by the concerned expression on their face. Yeah, they'd been told about Apocalypse, and the first time they heard it all the chill it gave Morph could've frozen them on the spot.]
I know of the guy, yeah. That's another one the team faced without me. He's supposed to be the first mutant that ever existed, so of course he wants to take over the world. I know that he promoted a fake cure for the 'mutant condition' and just... totally messed up Warren. The last time the team dealt with Apocalypse, there was a lot of stuff with time-traveling and kidnapping psychics, I'm pretty sure.
no subject
Yeah, that was pretty much his deal in my world too. First mutant, wanted to take over the world. Left out the whole 'fake cure' for mutants though. [Honestly it sounds like something he'd be adamantly against, but guess it was a trick anyway. And Warren... wasn't that the guy with wings that died in Cairo?
Scott frowns a little to himself.]
He kidnapped the Professor in my world. Before we kicked his ass.
sry for the wait on this one
[Neither of those was a nice option. Apocalypse was just way too powerful, period, and Morph was well aware that dealing with the guy always took a huge effort from the whole team to send him packing again. And Scott must've had a team around his own age backing him up, too... taking him on so early couldn't have been easy.]
Good on you guys for kicking his ass, though. Did everything go okay with that?
np!
[Or something like that. Scott mostly cared about just stopping that guy, no matter what. He already was responsible for Alex's death and wanted to take over the world, he didn't need any extra reason to kick his ass. He's really glad he's gone. Hopefully for good.
The question though gets Scott to pause, a minute flinch going through his body, before he nods his head. Y-yeah, everything went fine with that... don't worry about him.]
Considering everything? Yeah. Although, tensions back home have risen because of him. It's why I'm officially a X-Man now.
