[Rin brushes back some of her hair in an attempt to look presentable to those who could see her. Although, she was unsure about the trinket in her hand, she tries her best to attempt to communicate to those who were here. Maybe she would see the people that she met along the way? Either way, right now, she's settled nicely in one of the inn rooms, with her usual, friendly smile.]

Hi all! My name is Rin. I'll keep this short -- but if you guys are interested in a sparring partner, let me know! I probably shouldn't spill my secrets so openly, but I work for a rebel group back home and used to train people during the war. I have experience with training, so if you need that, I'm open to it! As for sparring; I use my katana. There's some lightning magic that I use with my katana, but to keep the fight fair, I can, you know, not use that.

If anyone is interested, please get back to me!

[There's a pause, and a friendly hum.]

Oh yeah, if you want a meal, feel free to stop by my room at the inn.

Oh...

You know, hold on, let me see if I can show it to you.

[She flicks the camera toward her katana that's laying on her bed. It looks otherworldly, to say the least. And that glow is a bit funny looking, but hey, it's her sword.]

It's kind of like a sword, but a lot skinnier.

[meiren]

[ Oh, a sword. An...unusual one, but he can't deny he wouldn't mind a better look at it. Easy enough. ]

Fair. Sparring?

[ He gets few enough chances for sword practice as it is. At least in ways that don't actually involve people trying to kill him. ]

[maiestas]

You know; a sparring match. A friendly match between two people, where we just duel for awhile until the other person yields, or gets knocked on their ass.

[Usually it's the latter for Rin, because she just doesn't know when to stop.]

You good with a sword?

[meiren]

I know what sparring is. I'd be interested to see your sword in action.

[ Somehow he sounds vaguely amused without his tone of voice changing at all. ]

I'd say so.

[maiestas]

I'd be happy to show you my sword arts, Mister. As long as you show me yours, then I think our sparring match will be just fine.

Do you use magic at all?

[meiren]

Zhou Zishu. And no, there is no magic where I come from.

[ There's a brief pause, almost thoughtful. ]

Don't let that stop you. What did you call it, lightning magic?

[maiestas]

Interesting... I guess I should have expected as much. Not everyone can be born with magic, I guess... But it's nice to meet you, Zhou.

[Always shortening names, this one.]

Yeah, I can use lightning magic with my sword attacks. It's a nice little zap if you're not expecting it. Although, I'm not trying to kill someone with it. That would be bad, you know? But I'm a bit limited here... It seems like some of my other magic isn't working. I usually use fire, and earth magic as well, but no dice. Well. Besides being able to do this --

[Without much of a warning, her hand lifts up and she snaps her fingers. Her hand suddenly on fire, but it doesn't look like it hurts.]</small. Just this for fire.

And you. [ Back to sounding amused, though his attention sharpens again quickly. Give him a good puzzle to solve any day. ]

Interesting. What were you formerly able to do?

[maiestas]

Well, I could shoot fire lasers, and make fire geysers from the floor. It's pretty standard back where I'm from, but nothing too interesting! I also know earth magic, but that was to just give me a shield since I like to charge in without much of a thought.

[She doesn't seem to have access to that, though. Which is unfortunate, because that shield was useful!]

I'll just have to rely on my katana, and lightning magic while I'm here. If you want to see my katana in action, we can go to the fields sometime! You can show me your weapon too, if you have it.

[meiren]

[ Manipulating fire is standard? She must come from a very interesting world.

The admittance to charging into places gets a faintly amused snort, though. Sounds familiar. ]

I do. And I would like that.

[maiestas]

[Oh no she hears that snort, and it makes her a bit sheepish. Her finger scratching her cheek sheepishly.]

So tell me; what kind of sword do you use? Is there a certain style that you use when you swordfight?

[meiren]

[ Silence for a moment, but it's a thoughtful kind of silence. The part of him that's been trained into never giving up more than he needs to wants to balk at the idea of announcing something like that publicly, there's a reason he keeps his sword hidden. On the other hand, there's no real pressing reason to keep it a secret, other than the fact that he likes being underestimated. ]

It's probably better if I show you.

[ In both cases, really. There are worse things that being secretive for no good reason. ]

[maiestas]

Well, I'll be happy to see what you're willing to show me!

[She gets it. Being secretive is still a thing. She should probably be more careful, given the time she comes from but she just. Isn't.]

[meiren]

Alright. When?

[ Excited about getting to stretch himself a little? Maybe slightly. ]

[maiestas]

Are you free the day after tomorrow? I'll need to look for a smithy in general today before I do any sort of sparring! Gives me time to stretch out these legs, too.

[She's also excited. She may or may not have spent most of her time in her bedroom...]

[meiren]

I am free any time. [ There...isn't a lot else to do here. It's very weird for someone who's been moving nonstop since he was roughly six. ]

Does your sword require fixing?

[maiestas]

Perfect! Then I'll see you the day after tomorrow.

[Rin was always on the move as well, and she tended to be a bit more hyper than the usual person.]

Hmm... Maybe a little? It's a bit rough around the edges, after fighting so much with it. I just need to sharpen it a little, and it should be good as new.

[meiren]

You fight often, then?

[ Not that he didn't suspect she was skilled, given the rest of the conversation, but there's sparring and then there's fighting. If she's experienced at both, this potential match just got all the more interesting. ]

[maiestas]

We're in a middle of a war, so yeah... Fighting is almost an every day thing. I tend to fight spies, or assassins on my end.

[The smile on her face weakens just a bit more, but only for a short moment. She tries her best to perk up, despite everything.]

What's your world like? Any dumb wars, or tyrants trying to kill you?

[meiren]

...complicated.

[ Considering he's been both spy and assassin. ]

No wars at the moment. But the jianghu is never without dangers.

[maiestas]

It's always complicated, isn't it?

[Relatable content....]

I'm glad there isn't any wars at the moment though. Although... What kind of dangers lurk in your world? Monsters? Humans?

[meiren]

I have seen monstrous things. I have never seen a monster.

What is your war over?

[maiestas]

Hmm... So no monsters in your world, huh? Must be the people then.

[Pretty similar to her world, actually.]

It's, ah... Some woman, actually. She wants more power, so she's been killing our species in order to gain more power. I think I figured out a way to stop her, but it needs to be tinkered a bit.

[meiren]

[ He can't help but give a dryly amused snort at that. ]

Everyone always wants more power. I don't know why. Sounds like a lot of work.

[maiestas]

I agree! I'm not entirely sure what her deal is -- especially with killing everyone! I can't relate to what she wants, to be honest with you, but she has to be stopped.

[She isn't much of a hero, nor does she want to be, but god forbid this woman keeps on with her conquest.]

Buuttt that's for me when I go home! If I ever get to go home, anyway... Who knows how long I'll be here for. Actually, my charge is related to this woman.
