Good afternoon, this is Mitsuru Kirijo.

For those who don't already know, I have just opened a new establishment, House of Leaves. It's a combination of tea shop and book store.

I was considering hosting a book club at the shop. It will be held on a fortnightly basis, in the evenings, after closing time.

There will, of course, be refreshments for those concerned about that.

Please let me know if you are interested. I will also gladly accept suggestions for reading material.

i don't think i've ever been to a book club but i've done a lot of reading.

what kind of books are you going to have?

Then perhaps you should give it a try. I've never been a member of one before but I have found reading the same book as others and then discussing it quite enjoyable.

As many varieties as we can. If there is something you are particularly interested in then do let me know.

maybe. i guess it's worth a try.

i usually go for horror but i don't mind other genres.

Horror isn’t a genre I’ve explored much if I’m being honest.

yeah, its not always the most popular but i like it.

[Even after his life turned into a horror game story.]

i tend to like gothic horror the best. i don't know if i have any favorites or recommendations.

On the subject of gothic horror, I have read Frankenstein.

[ Not entirely sure whether she enjoyed it or not. Experiments always tend to veer a little too close to home after all. ]

Perhaps I should give some of the more classic horrors a chance first.
Dracula quite interests me.

i don't think i've read frankenstein. there are a lot of books here i've never heard of but i'll see if i can find it.

vampire stories are good, dracula is a good read. there's a book from my world that's a lot like it, the count dragul of lyyra, that i found in the library.

Perhaps we could have Dracula as one of our choice of reads. I ought to read it.

I'm always curious about books that appear in the library from people's home worlds. The plot is very similar?

that's not a bad idea. i think its supposed to be a classic.

its not quite the same, but its pretty close. another vampire story.

Vampires are popular as subjects of literature across worlds it seems.

Perhaps I will look out for your version too. It would be interesting to compare the two.

yeah, i guess they are. i don't think they were real back where i came from, but who knows.

[He didn't think magic was real and that turned out to be wrong.]

Logic dictates that I should dismiss them as mere works of fiction and myth.

However, certain events in my own world plus some of the residents I've heard about here mean that I'm a little more... open to the possibility of them not being a work of imagination entirely I suppose.

[ More than a year on and it's still a little weird for everyone's... abilities to mostly be out in the open like this. Her own included, still there's no sense in being secretive about it. ]

logic doesn't work the same in your world as it does in others. i've stopped trying to expect things make sense in any other world. but things like magic and vampires were supposed to be fake back home too but i found out magic was real.

it seems like in some places its just normal for people. so why not vampires or werewolves or whatever.
