OKCINDR POST #5

Ever wanted to have CR with a character and wasn't sure how to get them to cross paths? Wanted a dating app so you can hook up with hot people? Wanted to just find friends because you're a lonely bastard?

With the update of the tablets and the apps, we now have a dating / friendship app called OKCINDR! Players can use it as they please for the two months that it's up -- just imagine that they're profiles to swipe right on and everything. The idea is to encourage CR that may be difficult to get with characters who may or may not be interested in events / posts / logs / other network posts.

So, on January 2nd, characters randomly look back at their tablets to see the following:

This month, if players reset their profile, they will have a list of questions to answer:

- What is the maximum amount of sheep you have counted when trying to fall asleep?
- Is it harder to forgive yourself, or to forgive others?
- How strongly do you feel that the past defines a person?
- What is your dream?
- Why would an android's dream contain electric sheep? Are they particularly drawn to livestock animals?
- If you could return to one specific moment in your life, would you?
- How do you wake up from a dream?
- Please
- Wake up
- You must wake up

Players, of course, are able to ignore this message. However, if a character wouldn't fill it out but a player would like to participate... the profile mysteriously resets itself. There may even be responses sent from Character A to Character B without Character A actually doing anything, if you'd like! This is a completely opt-in scenario! But for players who would like to participate fill out the post:

like, back in the summer? that reset? you can give me the whole story if you want, maybe it'll help.

yeah that one, back when the world was about to break apart and we had to use those terminals. when we all woke up from it, i had a dumb present in the form of a bird nesting inside me.

i want to say it's totally random, but uh. you know the glitches too, right? back when that was happening, i glitched into... different versions of myself. like other scotts from other universes. one of them had like. big bird in him. less on the whole eating crackers and more on the whole wanting to remake the world sort of deal.

so not sure if this is supposed to be a reminder, some sort of warning, or this place just messing with me.

huh. i don't know how you'd figure that out either, if there's even a way. i don't really remember a lot of it, but back then i got glitched into, i guess... an old man version of me? but he definitely wasn't the old man me from this timeline we're in right now, so maybe the bird thing could be

and. i never actually considered that before. i sort of figured that the reason why she felt similar but not really the same is because she's smaller and weaker.

but yeah, the whole different timelines thing, those are real. and since we can't leave here on our own, this timeline might as well be separate from the rest anyway.

i've been here for almost two years, which yeah i know sounds depressing, but there's been more cracks in the simulation and we've been learning more about this world.

i'm not too torn up about it, if i'm being honest. i guess i was in the middle of something back home, but it sucked.

i know i'm, like, a crazy outlier though, so. fingers crossed for you guys.

no, there's a bunch of us, we all do the same thing. on purpose, as far as i know. one of us explained it to the rest, so no, i never accidentally jumped. probably.

they want to kill everyone on earth so yeah, i would say pretty dangerous. the decoy terrorist has a group that's really into bio warfare type stuff so it's basically shit wherever you look. the old man me that glitched here was from the "oops, they let the new plague out" timeline.

different people from various timelines jumping around and banding together to save the world. sounds like superhero stuff. still don't envy that.

right, one of those terrorists groups. i never understood the whole killing everyone on earth thing. but guess if old man you is able to relay information about that plague to others, hopefully people can use that to prevent it from happening.

we're all from the same timeline, but some of us get around more than others. and we're definitely not superheroes.

and yeah, i guess. one timeline'll be pushed in some other direction. it's not nothing.

if it helps, i'm not even sure if time passes while we're here. i know that doesn't make sense, but might be best to ask the people that have went home and came back with all their memories intact.

dunno, i don't really do team stuff.

anyway, i don't know about that either. in this timeline, i'm here. in some other timeline, i'm gone already. maybe this is the timeline where in a week i wake up back there, or maybe it's the one where i wind up staying here forever. time passing or not somewhere else doesn't change much for me, because it's just a version of me from another timeline that's back there now.

color me surprised.
