OKCINDR POST #5
Ever wanted to have CR with a character and wasn't sure how to get them to cross paths? Wanted a dating app so you can hook up with hot people? Wanted to just find friends because you're a lonely bastard?
With the update of the tablets and the apps, we now have a dating / friendship app called OKCINDR! Players can use it as they please for the two months that it's up -- just imagine that they're profiles to swipe right on and everything. The idea is to encourage CR that may be difficult to get with characters who may or may not be interested in events / posts / logs / other network posts.
So, on January 2nd, characters randomly look back at their tablets to see the following:
This month, if players reset their profile, they will have a list of questions to answer:
Players, of course, are able to ignore this message. However, if a character wouldn't fill it out but a player would like to participate... the profile mysteriously resets itself. There may even be responses sent from Character A to Character B without Character A actually doing anything, if you'd like! This is a completely opt-in scenario! But for players who would like to participate fill out the post:
If you'd like to for shits and giggles, here's some notifications that may be used:

Name (@username) followed you

Name (@username) unfollowed you

Have fun! Code credit.

OKCINDR PROFILE RESET #4
PLEASE RESET PROFILE
This month, if players reset their profile, they will have a list of questions to answer:
- What is the maximum amount of sheep you have counted when trying to fall asleep?
- Is it harder to forgive yourself, or to forgive others?
- How strongly do you feel that the past defines a person?
- What is your dream?
- Why would an android's dream contain electric sheep? Are they particularly drawn to livestock animals?
- If you could return to one specific moment in your life, would you?
- How do you wake up from a dream?
- Please
- Wake up
- You must wake up

[ He doesn't know that much about said simulations or technology, but... somehow Minato gets the sense he might have a better grasp on it compared to her. ]
no subject
[ ...Most of the time, anyway. Demons are something else and she's not going to start explaining the Crossroads nonsense. ]
Everything here feels real enough to hurt.
no subject
[ Kind of? If you squint, anyways. He's trying. ]
I think an illusion could hurt you though. If you don't know that it's an illusion.
[ Not knowing something's an illusion doesn't change the fact that it is one. ]
no subject
So are we dreaming, then? Or are we physically here in some sense?
no subject
I don't know. Maybe.
Maybe some are here physically. But there are people who died in their home worlds too.
no subject
Troubling.
There's no consensus, then. And no real logic that defines this place.
[ She...supposes she can work with that, even if she's frustrated about it. The Crossroads and the Fade aren't wholly different. But it feels wrong on so many levels for the dead to be here, that their rest or even a chance at peace might be defiled. ]
I suppose that explains why people are just going about their day and trying to make do with what they can.
no subject
I don't think anyone's found anything to connect it all.
[ Granted, it's not like Minato had even tried to get to the bottom of things, merely opting to accept his circumstances at face value. ]
It doesn't sound like you'll give up on looking for one though.
no subject
[ Stuck somewhere with something to unravel that doesn't even exist. In reality, if there truly is no connection, then she could just let that part drop; it's the thought that there won't be a resolution that'll keep her up at night. ]
In the end, figuring it all out isn't the most important thing.
[ Surviving and leaving is, if the option is available. ]
no subject
[ And some of them were accused of crimes they hadn't even committed, but they were still considered criminals.
But... she'd said "personal punishment," hadn't she? ]
You know what your accusation is about then.
Or it sounds like you do.
no subject
[ Whether that's what the...overseer or whatever it's called wanted, that's something else entirely. Jury's out on how she feels about all of that. ]
But I do have an inkling what mine might be about.
Does your accusation make sense to you?
no subject
[ The crimes etched on the parchment don't remain static, however. ]
But it changed after I did something here. Maybe yours will change if you do something the Council doesn't like.
[ Like murder, for instance. ]
no subject
Swell.
[ Yeah, this was designed to just rub her the wrong way. ]
Can you tell me anything more about this 'Council'?
no subject
I don't think anyone's ever seen them before.
[ In theory, he'd met them once. ]
We used to see them for sentencing at Town Hall. No one ever remembers meeting them though.
[ You'd step into the building, led by the Council's ever dutiful employee Jerry, and then you'd find yourself right outside the building again.
...actually, no one's seen Jerry for awhile now. ]
no subject
That sounds ominous.
Unfortunately, this really just leaves me with more questions, so forgive me for bombarding you. Do you - or anyone else - recall anything strange happening at these sentencings?
no subject
No. Though I guess not remembering the actual sentencing is weird.
I only knew it happened because my parchment changed and told me to do something because of my crime.
no subject
[ Either way, that's some magic she's never experienced.
She really needs to sit down with someone and differentiate 'simulation' and 'magic nonsense' at this point... ]
no subject
What was written.
[ ... ]
I don't know much either, even though I've been here almost a year.
[ Surely this is a reassuring fact. ]
no subject
Is that an intentional unknowing, that we're kept in the dark?
Or is it just better not to know?
[ No offense but she needs info, and she's gonna start to shake people down to get it. ]
no subject
She should come shake him down in a future thread though. Turns out Minato remembers everything about his most recent sentencing, unlike his last one where he couldn't remember shit. ]
I don't know.
[ If they're being kept in the dark, there's no way to discern whether it's better not to know. Or at least, that's what Minato thinks. ]
I think it's probably intentional. The way we can't really remember anything that happened inside town hall.
no subject
Sorry! ]
I'm sure it's intentional in some respects. Or something is happening that forces it.
[ It might sound like she's just said the same thing, but it's more that she doesn't know the limits of this technology or what it can do, or if there's an element of magic. Or, you know, could just be trauma. 'Sentencing' doesn't sound like a walk in the park, after all. ]
One last thing, then I won't keep pressing. Has anyone gone into these sentencings and then haven't come back? Or do they always come back, just with different supposed outcomes?
no subject
I don't think so. I haven't seen anyone never return after sentencing.
[ Just that... sometimes the people who did return from sentencing sometimes acted a little off, even a little out of character. A relevant detail, perhaps... ]
Sometimes they act a little differently though. But they go back to normal after a little while.
