[she blows her bangs and insanely loose locks away from her vision before tucking it behind her ear.]

[ the sinking feeling in his chest is very much real, something that spreads from there and into his bones, into sinew and muscle and every part of him until he can no longer separate the quiet dread of jinx, of all people< not wanting him to find out what happens from everything else that is wrong with him.

[she is rolling her eyes so far behind her head, that it seems like jinx is about to prove whether they can get stuck that way. but it doesn't seem to be a possible case when she returns her gaze back to viktor, frowning.]

Look, the killing gig is a past life, alright? Unless you wanna tick me off and have a little heart-to-heart talk with Pow-Pow. And trust me, Fortune Cookie, she's not a fan of rambling lectures.

I'm sure the program will be grateful for your help. Or perhaps you'd like to tell me of all the good you've done for Zaun and Piltover, instead?

[ he pauses, scoffs. ] I am sure that little girl would thank you for the... good you brought her life.

[ his voice is inflectionless — she's pushed, and pushed, and so as a result, she gets this: ice crackling in his words, each word knife-sharp, and yet delivered with a tone that is not even angry, not anything but cold and emotionless.

for a brief moment, it almost looks like his eyes are icy, too, the usually warm amber dimmed and muted. ]

[ and then he simply cuts the call. he's had enough, thanks. ]
