Taken into account that I'm currently waiting to be sentenced, I'm surprised at the lack of legal representation available to me. Am I supposed to represent myself? Don't the people who've kidnapped me know I'm the worst lawyer you could imagine?

[ A slight huff; back home, it would've been a laugh. Here, who knows?! ]

[ A wave of one hand, nonchalant or unsure, it's hard to tell on him. Finally, Michel turns his attention down on the charm, something like eye contact with the grand, big audience he can't yet make out. ]

Unrelated, but I'm wondering whether they have truffles here. As such, I also find myself wondering where I might get a dog or a pig with a nose for that kind of treasure. [ Pause. ] Truffle hunting is one of the only types of hunt I've never tried, but it seems time might be on my side for a while yet, so why not take advantage of it?

[ And like that, a wide, beaming smile forms on his lips, giving his words a cheerful edge that might not match the context entirely. ]
