OKCINDR POST #4

Ever wanted to have CR with a character and wasn't sure how to get them to cross paths? Wanted a dating app so you can hook up with hot people? Wanted to just find friends because you're a lonely bastard?

With the update of the tablets and the apps, we now have a dating / friendship app called OKCINDR! Players can use it as they please for the two months that it's up -- just imagine that they're profiles to swipe right on and everything. The idea is to encourage CR that may be difficult to get with characters who may or may not be interested in events / posts / logs / other network posts.

So, on November 3rd, characters randomly look back at their tablets to see the following:

This month, if players reset their profile, they will have a list of questions to answer:

What is forgiveness?
Can a criminal ever really be forgiven?
should you be forgiven?
Is a crime ever justified?
How do you justify your crime?
Can you forgive someone who's wronged you?

Players, of course, are able to ignore this message. However, if a character wouldn't fill it out but a player would like to participate... the profile mysteriously resets itself. There may even be responses sent from Character A to Character B without Character A actually doing anything, if you'd like! This is a completely opt-in scenario! But for players who would like to participate fill out the post:

I can't help it that we've been thrown into the sort of place where our entire existence is practically metaphysical.

[ .. though her getting all philosophic about it is definitely on her. It's hard to kick the habit after she was already stuck in a situation like that back home too.. At least she won't go too hard on it for poor Toph's sake. ]

I can't say I have experience, but I can imagine it must be difficult. Do you think talking about your friends would help a little? [ Since obviously Ange doesn't have any idea what would help - see the part of her having no experience.

But she likes Toph enough to be willing to try and be more helpful than she usually is. ]

[ Yeah, that makes sense, that Ange wouldn't be homesick at all. Toph can understand that; she doesn't miss Gaoling at all, she misses... a sort of vague everything. ]

It's weird.

Ange has never really thought about it hard, but now Toph is presenting it so plainly, Ange is realizing she truly doesn't miss anything. Not the culture, not even modern conveniences, especially when they have the ones she'd truly miss here now. Not the people, not the places.

It feels.. weird. Empty.

I could learn, if you'd like that. I need a hobby aside from investigating this place, or I might just end up driving myself crazy.

[ She wouldn't judge Ange for that sentiment, just like she wouldn't judge Zuko if he wanted to vent about anything. Trauma gives you a lot of license in Toph's book. But she might try to offer to take Ange home with her, as implausible as that scenario is... ]

Really?? Actually, if you want to learn something Mr. Snarky figured out that codes don't always automatically translate, and he taught me this one based on something close to my language. I think he called it Morse code in old Mandarin Anyway the point is if you tap it into rock or the ground I can hear you from really far away and it makes sense to me It's not the same but it's pretty neat

I know Morse code.

Well, I mean, I know what it is, not the exact code, so I'll have to learn that first. But it's something that exists where I come from as well. [ Not that Ange ever had any reason to learn it, as sheltered as she had been.. At least she's heard of it though. ]

That's going to be a very one-sided message system though, right? It's not like I can feel it when you're tapping something into the ground. Earth and rocks feel like nothing to me.

But she doesn't really think there's much for Toph to be ashamed about. Maybe the fact she makes statues of herself, but-- you know, everyone probably has at least one cringe hobby, right. ]

So then it's not as easy.

Okay I guess some of them here can be kind of embarrassing but wow they have nothing on my friends at home I willingly go around with Twinkle Toes, Snoozles and Sugar Queen One time we got lost in a desert and Sokka (that's Snoozles) drank cactus juice and got all high and wacky Not like we were stranded or anything and he's over there saying cactus juice is the quenchiest

I'm assuming that by your explanation it's common knowledge to know you shouldn't drink from those in your world.
