OKCINDR POST #4
Ever wanted to have CR with a character and wasn't sure how to get them to cross paths? Wanted a dating app so you can hook up with hot people? Wanted to just find friends because you're a lonely bastard?
With the update of the tablets and the apps, we now have a dating / friendship app called OKCINDR! Players can use it as they please for the two months that it's up -- just imagine that they're profiles to swipe right on and everything. The idea is to encourage CR that may be difficult to get with characters who may or may not be interested in events / posts / logs / other network posts.
So, on November 3rd, characters randomly look back at their tablets to see the following:
This month, if players reset their profile, they will have a list of questions to answer:
Players, of course, are able to ignore this message. However, if a character wouldn't fill it out but a player would like to participate... the profile mysteriously resets itself. There may even be responses sent from Character A to Character B without Character A actually doing anything, if you'd like! This is a completely opt-in scenario! But for players who would like to participate fill out the post:
If you'd like to for shits and giggles, here's some notifications that may be used:

OKCINDR PROFILE RESET #4
PLEASE RESET PROFILE
This month, if players reset their profile, they will have a list of questions to answer:
What is forgiveness?
Can a criminal ever really be forgiven?
should you be forgiven?
Is a crime ever justified?
How do you justify your crime?
Can you forgive someone who's wronged you?
Players, of course, are able to ignore this message. However, if a character wouldn't fill it out but a player would like to participate... the profile mysteriously resets itself. so you are a superhero? huh, there's more of you around than i thought
back home there's none but apparently you guys're pretty common on other earths
no subject
yeah. I've met a few of us here, most are from different earths to mine. adjacent, sure, but... different.
no subject
yeah, the adjacent earths seem to be a thing
so far no one else's has had ghosts, so, i get it. weird, innit? some stuff is almost the same and then other stuff's totally different
no subject
no ghosts at all? weird.
but given everything else, I'm not completely ruling them out from my earth, they're just not something I've ever come across.
no subject
yeah, chances are they're there, you just haven't seen them
i'm ruling out superheroes on my earth though, pretty sure i'd know if there were any
no subject
it was a joke, and mostly because it'd come down to 'mid-thirties, technically only employed once for about six months'.
circus was where I grew up, so it's not exactly how I think of a job, and neither's the avengers.
it's not like any of it bothers me, and if I wanted a regular job, that's the type of life I'd have, you know?
no offence, but between you and me, I think I'm happy not seeing any ghosts.
no subject
still, that's just who you are, innit? not having had jobs that make for a good resume doesn't really define you. but i mean, if it doesn't bother you then you know that already, yeah? for what it's worth, being a superhero sounds like a hard gig, so it's pretty great of you to be one
ha, yeah, no offence taken. i get it
no subject
his lack of formal education. his lack of powers. his whole being solidly human on a team of gods and — well, every other avenger.
but for all that it is something that plays on clint's mind more often than he'd like, it's not something he acknowledges, not if he can help it.
"doesn't define you". (kind of does, though.) "sounds like a hard gig". (yes, it is, and he's died more than once, is only alive thanks to magic. has more lingering aches and pains than he'll ever admit to. has no semblance of a sleeping routine. has no work/life balance—.) )
it's the best job in the world.
( didn't he just describe it as not a job? yes. don't look at him. )
how many other people get to stroke their ego and save people at the same time? you ask me, I'd say I lucked out.
no subject
[ and what follows is something that once again reads as a joke, deflecting at its finest — he does it too, all too much, to not recognise it when he sees it. but he won't push either... if clint doesn't want to talk about it, well. he sure gets it. ]
so, that why you chose to become one, then? actually, how do you become a superhero? is there an application form, or is it nepotism?
no subject
my parents are dead. orphan. pretty much the farthest you can get from nepotism. ( charles. ) way I went about it was
( wait, give him a second because this requires typing and he hates typing— )
guy named iron man is at my circus on a date. one of the rides has an issue, he saves everyone from getting hurt, there's no casualties. yay. great job, iron man.
now, your boy hawkeye, he takes one look at iron man and thinks "if a guy dressed as a tin can can do that, I can do that".
( purely out of jealousy, make no mistake. that's all it was, because clint's entire crowd stopped paying attention to him. )
dressed up my arrows, swapped the fringe for some purple, and what do you know: mistaken for a criminal.
( and also... an actual criminal. )
ended up becoming pals with the avengers ( ... ) avenger's? ( whatever ) butler. tied him up, showed off my talents, and the guy I'd spent the last couple of months trying to kill/steal from decided I'd be a great addition to the team.
no subject
[ and then he has to grimace to himself, because, ]
and bloody hell, sorry about your folks.
but huh, that's sure a story.
i guess you were right in the end, yeah? you could do that.
no subject
( ha, sorry, charles. it's funny to clint because he's not bothered, it'd just been the 'nepotism'. )
not a person living who misses my old man, so don't bother with the apologies.
( his mother's a more complicated matter, but it's also been thirty years. )
I'm right nearly all the time.
no subject
neither of them, that's who, because charles just says, ]
right. well, taking it back, then.
[ because he may get it, but he's not exactly going to say so to someone who's still little more than a stranger. ]
sure, mate. i'll do you a favour and pretend i believe you
no subject
you didn't need to say the unspoken part out loud.
no subject
so, anything you miss from a circus, then?
no subject
first time any place ever smelled like home.
no subject
i don't miss a lot from home, but the smell of mom's cooking's one of those things.
