[The last thing Katsuki is used to is being uncertain - about himself, about anything he does, about the world around him and how it works. But this whole reset thing turned everything on its head. Sure, Izuku had explained about it probably being a simulation and all, but it was tough to quantify and really believe until he experienced the reset. Fought to make sure the reset happened, even though he didn't really know what that meant. So he has a few questions.]
if this is a simulation, what does that mean? for the people back home, I mean.
what does it mean for us?
["Is anything we do here real?" hangs in the air unspoken. That just feels a little too vulnerable to say out loud. All of this is a little too vulnerable, but he asks anyway. It's been weighing on him.]

The first is that the world just keeps turning without us, and that there might or might not be somebody frantically searching for us. Whether they will be in time...
The second is that we all might as well just be already dead.

that second one, you mean that's the one where our real selves are back home doing what we're supposed to do while a simulation of us rots here?

That'd be the happy-go-lucky option. Unfortunately, I don't believe in such fairy tales. I'd rather bet that some of the people here have been long since been reduced to souls who just haven't realized that they're dead yet.

It's more like... think of a rabbit or a mouse in the belly of a snake. We have been swallowed whole, and are slowly being digested. Figuratively speaking, of course.
[His suspicion is that this is some sort of supernatural trap that is drawing energy from them, but that is just the hunch of a former Onmyoji. The why, where and when are still annoyingly unclear.]
This place likes to toss us into situations that elicit strong emotions, correct?

well that makes more sense, I guess. and yeah, they do, with the emotions and stuff

Another classic sign would be the people from different ages and how some just regularly "vanish."

Well, my point is that I've run into people who have claimed to be from a decade or more in the past. And by the sound of it they were serious.
