[It's a rare video post from Morph, starting with a selfie-style shot of their smiling face, and a distant view of trees behind them.]
I still can't believe it happened, but my home showed up? And it's not a half-burnt, demolished ruin like the last time I saw it. Here, take a look.
[Then they turn the camera to show that they're standing on a driveway that leads up to a literal mansion which is as promised, intact and very non-destroyed looking.]
This is Xavier's School for 'Gifted' Youngsters. A full tour would be pretty boring, but there is something here that you absolutely have to see.
[The video feed cuts off and then restarts in a metal hallway, right outside a set of doors that promptly open up into... a big metal room. Other than an observation platform at the top of the room that's lined in glass, there's nothing all that notable about it.]
This is what we call the Danger Room! Long story short, the Professor has this alien squeeze that gave us access to some awesome technology. Talk about side benefits, right?
Computer, let's run simulation Juggernaut 24-A.
[With a shimmer of light, there's suddenly an entirely new landscape around Morph - they're now standing in a construction yard, with stacks of steel beams and construction equipment visible behind them, along with the slightly more distant buildings of a city.
There's also a huge armored guy standing in the construction yard, who's distinctly confused expression is still visible despite the helmet. "Hey, whuzzat?"]
This is where the X-Men do a lot of our training! It's all fancy holograms set up to put us through our paces. Using the Danger Room, we can plug info about our opponents into the computer and practice fighting them like it's... nearly the real thing. It's not perfect.
[Morph is paying no mind whatsoever to the holographic Juggernaut approaching behind them, who's looking angrier and angrier.]
Stop by sometime if you want to check it out! You don't have to load up a program with enemies in it, that's just what we use it for-
[At that moment the Juggernaut bellows out, "STOP IGNORING ME!", swinging a huge fist at Morph. They promptly drop their device, leaving the view tilted up at a grey, clouded sky as there's the SLAM of an impact that makes the device rattle.]
Whoops! I'm okay! Computer, end program!
[There's another shimmer of light before the view changes to a metal ceiling, the feed cut off shortly after.]
(OOC: The X-Mansion now exists in-game! Here is the info page, and a log for checking out the mansion will be going up a little later.)

Imagine it! A simulation within a simulation within a simulation! How deep can we go before we encounter some heretofore unknown divide-by-zero error within the AI?
[Rustling and a soft giggle.]
You must allow me to play with this fascinating alien technology of yours.

You can take a look, as long as you promise not to break it. We're lucky the Danger Room showed up here in the first place. The mansion's other computer systems are totally gone.

Why would you ever assume I might do such a thing?

Just play nice with our toys, Dan.

Or if not me someone certainly can. We've quite a few technologists on this star.

[A low, humorless chuckle.]
Though I must say, 'tis quite an experience having you tell me not to break simulation equipment. My, how times change us.
no subject
Yeah well, I'm pretty sure the Juggernaut hologram there isn't a sentient being trying to claw its way out.
[And if this starts another philosophical debate, they might just go outside and chuck their tablet into the pool.]

I'd hope to be set on fire, personally. What about you?

I'll vote for making the heroes wait for me to die of old age.

[There's a breathy sigh. Don't get distracted by curiosity, he tells himself. Don't---
Ah, screw it.]
Can you die from old age? Do your cells degrade over time?
no subject
[There's a pause. Morph has to stop and think about this one.]
Hank's said before that since my powers let me grow and shed mass constantly, that I'm creating new cells faster than a normal person would. That's the layman's version, anyway.

[He claps a hand to his chest. The gesture can't be seen but there is a sound of rustling fabric and rattling chains.]
And since you are, as you've pointed out, a being without internal tissue...
...Well...
You may be immortal! Watch out for that!
That first century might be entertaining but after that oh, how the years drag on...
no subject
[There's a long pause before they speak up again.]
That's, uh. That's something I'll have to wait and see about, huh?
[This has to be the fastest a joke has ever turned into an existential crisis. Thanks, Dan.]

If you find your mortal comrades answer their true calling and join the great majority while you are still saving lives with a bounce in your step...
That, I think, will be your first clue.

[Morph has the breezy tone of someone spitballing an idea, but the cheer has gone out of their voice entirely.]
