OKCINDR POST #3

Ever wanted to have CR with a character and wasn't sure how to get them to cross paths? Wanted a dating app so you can hook up with hot people? Wanted to just find friends because you're a lonely bastard?

With the update of the tablets and the apps, we now have a dating / friendship app called OKCINDR! Players can use it as they please for the two months that it's up -- just imagine that they're profiles to swipe right on and everything. The idea is to encourage CR that may be difficult to get with characters who may or may not be interested in events / posts / logs / other network posts.

So, on September 3rd, characters randomly look back at their tablets to see the following:

OKCINDR PROFILE RESET #3
PLEASE RESET PROFILE

This month, if players reset their profile, they will have a list of...questions...to answer:

What do you look for in a "relationship?"
Do you see through time?
When you stare into the void, is it the correct universe's infinite abyss that stares back?
Please define: existential crisis
How do you justify the color pink?
Does the data not corrupt exquisitely
Do do do does does does ththth e
Does the
Does the
Dies
data
done one one zero one

Additionally, this month, misfires on the meme are much more likely, whether it's a character who wouldn't post their own profile, or comments on other top levels.

Players, of course, are able to ignore this message. However, if a character wouldn't fill it out but a player would like to participate... the profile mysteriously resets itself. There may even be responses sent from Character A to Character B without Character A actually doing anything, if you'd like! This is a completely opt-in scenario! But for players who would like to participate fill out the post:

network profile
Character_Name
@username
ABOUT_ME

If you'd like to for shits and giggles, here's some notifications that may be used:

Name (@username) followed you

Name (@username) unfollowed you

Name (@username) blocked you

Have fun! Code credit.

it's a good way for us to get to know each other, isn't it?

Do you think that sort of thing is important in a place like this?

Getting to know each other?
mightymorphin: (C; what would you trade the pain for?)

[personal profile] mightymorphin 2024-09-12 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
well sure. even if you aren't out to make friends, knowing what the other Chosen are like is a good idea in case we need to team up or if someone's in trouble.

You know, I'm learning a lot about you today.

I didn't know you were this much of the helpful type, for one. Though I guess that isn't necessarily a bad thing.
mightymorphin: (C; and if you need somebody)

I try to be! it's sorta part of the job description.

So the superhero thing is for real?

I mean, I know you have special powers.
[ They sure showed her that last time around.. ] I just imagine that people aren't obligated to do something good with it, just because they have them.

'course it is! what, did you think I was wearing the costume for fun?

a good chunk of what my team does is fighting other mutants that use their powers to cause chaos or take advantage of people. so no, it's not an obligation thing. there's plenty of mutants that just want to live normal lives, too.

Wait, Mutants?

[ Apparently that part of it is new to her. Or rather, it's not fully new to her, which is why it surprises her so much. ]

Are you from the same place as Scott and Kurt?
mightymorphin: (C; and if you need somebody)

[personal profile] mightymorphin 2024-09-29 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
oh hey, you know about mutants?

sort yes, but sort of no! we're from the same world, but different timelines is the best way to describe it. the Scott and Kurt on my team at home are about a decade older.
entreats: will pave open tomorrow (if only the searing pain)

[personal profile] entreats 2024-10-04 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm living together with Scott and Kurt. That's why I know about it. Scott told me a long time ago, back when he was explaining the whole deal with his powers. And then Kurt showed up, but it seems like Scott is different from how he remembers him.

And now you're saying they're both different from how you remember them? That's wild. How many different variations of the same world does this place need?
mightymorphin: (C; what would you trade the pain for?)

[personal profile] mightymorphin 2024-10-07 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
ahh gotcha!

I don't know what's going on with that. at first I thought Scott came from earlier in my timeline, but it's clearer now that our worlds aren't quite the same. and, well, Peter comes from a place with a lot of the same superheroes that we have, but mutants don't exist.

it's more strange to me that so many worlds don't have mutants at all. I guess that genetic quirk is unique to where we come from.
entreats: but better is no excuse for tonight (so you almost feel better)

[personal profile] entreats 2024-10-13 09:35 am (UTC)(link)
[ Sorry, Morph, Ange may get a little bit nerdy about this. She loves gathering and organisating knowledge way too much.. ]

I think it's just that a lot of people do have special powers in existence, but the origin of said powers comes from different places. So whereas it's genetic in your world, it could exist on different grounds in other places.

In my place we would call what you all can do magic. And the people who can use those powers are called witches. It has nothing to do with genes though, it's something you have to learn, though some people are more suited for it than others.
mightymorphin: (C; i used to be a real go-getter)

[personal profile] mightymorphin 2024-10-18 04:19 pm (UTC)(link)
you know, that's a pretty good theory. not everyone comes from a world with superheroes, but a lot of the Chosen still have powers that the normal human population wouldn't have.

so there's only magic where you're from? that anyone can learn sounds pretty wild. could you only read a couple of books, or are we talking serious PhD level stuff here?
entreats: (wouldn't you love to know)

[personal profile] entreats 2024-10-27 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a little more difficult than that. Most people don't even know magic exists, so it's not like there are books out there written about it or anything.

You generally have to know a witch and learn magic from them. That's the way I learned magic, and I'm pretty sure it's the way every other witch I know learned their magic too.
