we're not really a different species, more like an offshoot of humans. it's that little extra sprinkle of genes that gives us powers.

nope! not unless it was some unintentional exposure to radiation, or some other byproduct of modern living. the boom in mutant births is still recent enough that not a lot of us are second-generation.

So your persons initial creation has not been pinpointed? I have an associate who would be rather interested in your specialized abilities, but alas, he has not made his way here.

nah, as far as anyone knows mutants just sort of randomly spring up. there is one mutant my team fought who might've been born in ancient Egypt, but I don't know if there's any solid proof.

well as long as it'd be a normal interest and not the creepy scientific study kind of interest.

yup, only the mutants related to each other will have similar powers. otherwise it can be just about anything, but we all have the same mutant gene.
