Ever wanted to have CR with a character and wasn't sure how to get them to cross paths? Wanted a dating app so you can hook up with hot people? Wanted to just find friends because you're a lonely bastard?

With the update of the tablets and the apps, we now have a dating / friendship app called OKCINDR! Players can use it as they please for the two months that it's up -- just imagine that they're profiles to swipe right on and everything. The idea is to encourage CR that may be difficult to get with characters who may or may not be interested in events / posts / logs / other network posts.

So, on July 2nd, characters randomly look back at their tablets to see the following:

This month, if players reset their profile, they will have a list of their choice of questions to answer:

- what is your favorite color, and why?
- describe your ideal date
- what's your favorite food, and are you able to cook it yourself?
- tell us about your very favorite hobby
- do you fear death?
- do you wake in the morning staring into the abyss, wondering if it stares back?
- what constitutes "life"? are you "alive?" how do you know if you are "living?"
- if you could be any animal, what would it be, and why?
- tell your favorite joke

Players, of course, are able to ignore this message. However, if a character wouldn't fill it out but a player would like to participate... the profile mysteriously resets itself. There may even be responses sent from Character A to Character B without Character A actually doing anything, if you'd like! This is a completely opt-in scenario! But for players who would like to participate fill out the post:

right, that's it. i've never actually been on a boat on the ocean... dunno if i'd go great at it, but it sounds cool.

soooo how many spaceships have you been on? a lot? you don't seem like a pirate, but if there are pirates there have to be normal ships, right?

Neither have I, actually. It does sound really fun though!

Oh, I've been on a few. [Ha ha...ha...anyway,] There are lots of different kinds of ships! Cargo barges, starships, scouting vessels, shuttles...and sure, there might be stuff like dreadnaughts and pirate ships, but that's not NEARLY all the space travel you can do!

I...think so! It's a class of warship, right? So there must be some around somewhere.

Well, maybe they're not ALL assholes! I mean, sure, it's not like a warship is gonna be staffed with just the nicest guys in the universe, but I'm sure some of them are just there because they have to be! They didn't choose that life! They had no choice!

YES! Exactly like that! I'm sure not every bad guy is a mindless lackey, right? There have to be some people like that, too!

uh, i stocked shelves in a grocery store. sometimes they let me mop up spills... glamorous stuff.

Actually, in some ways, that's not so different from what I did when I first got transferred to the Cerritos. Cleaning and maintenance and stuff. It's totally non-glamorous and kinda boring...and gross sometimes, but when you think about it, it's actually pretty important too!

but yeah, sure, i guess. i don't really mind? i never had anything to say on those "what i want to be when i grow up" things as a kid, so it's not like i'm missing out.

how do you get out of maintenance on a space ship? take a test or something?

It's an important job!! Can you imagine living on a spaceship if someone DIDN'T clean the toilets?? Pretty gross, right?

And anyway, it was mostly cleaning plasma conduits and re-orientating ion filters and stuff like that. Things that are a LITTLE sciency, but also higher ups don't really want to do them.

I guess you'd get out of it by being promoted? Most everyone has to clean up after themselves, even higher-rank officers, but bridge crew is usually like, running some life-or-death mission or initiating diplomatic relations and stuff.
