Hey everyone, this is Jim Kirk. Welcome to Aldrip's shiny new Adopt-A-Pet app! These lovely puppers are looking for good homes; all adoptions will go through Kakashi. Please reach out to him if you have an interest in any of the dogs you see here. We'll update periodically as dogs are adopted/new dogs taken in; please @thecapn in the help tool to alert me if you notice anything glitching with the application itself.

Meet Celeste, the 1-year-old Chocolate Lab/Husky Mix. She is currently working on skills like "off, "sit, and "touch. Celeste likes to settle down with a nice chew after her training sessions.

Schnitzel is an energetic Maltese mix looking to find his forever home. He's a goofy boy who loves squeaky toys and tennis balls. Schnitzel is also very affectionate and will lean in closer to you to get more cuddles.

i'm levi. i help out in person there sometimes.

Maybe I'll see you around, then. I'm there occasionally, bringing in supplies. Hopefully some of these pups will start getting adopted, and it'll be a little less hectic.

[Honestly, he'd be a little sad if some of them got adopted, but he could still see them around town. And it was better for the dogs (and Kakashi) if they got real homes.]

That's the idea! I was also thinking of a meet and greet day at some point, maybe, bring all the dogs to the park so people can interact with them, see if they get along?

Great, we'll have to pick a date! Let's see how many get adopted off the app first, but I'm sure more dogs will show up. I don't know where the hell they're all coming from in the first place.

i talked to some guy about that, sort of. he said [Well, Levi didn't really know what he said.] something about cats have worse....rehabilitation.

or something.

Aw, that's pessimism at work! They just take a little longer to earn their trust, but they can be domesticated.

oh, okay. i don't know, i've never really had a pet.

they'd probably need a different place than all the dogs, though.

It's a work in progress. We'll have to see how many there are.

But yes they should probably be away from the dogs.

they might be harder to catch. cats aren't as friendly as dogs.

[At least not obviously so. He'd always heard cats were more aloof loners anyway.]

They just take a little bit longer to warm up, but if you're persistent - which I am - they'll quickly learn where the food comes from.

[ Is his plan to lure them from the docks to the catio he's building with treats? Possibly. ]

[Well, he guesses food is usually how you get animals to like you. It sure worked with the dogs.]

that makes sense. i don't know much about cats but i can try to help if you want.
