Hello. For those I haven't had the opportunity to meet yet, my name is Saralegui. I find myself in need of...advice, I suppose. On how I might support myself while here. I don't want to portray myself as completely helpless, but my experience and skillset don't seem very applicable to basic self-sufficiency.

I'm willing to believe that about when you had men. But I think the resources of a duke are considerably larger than what you're working with now.

Your majesty is correct that I have needed to make compromises and settle for less. However, I believe the same is for you. [The free-month at the inn is about the end, after all.] As long as you are willing to humble yourself, you'll be amazed how little can a human get by with.

I'm asking for advice on this, aren't I? Am I not humbling myself? Or will you only deign to call it that when you have me playing servant for you?

I do believe that your grace is on right path, yes. However, if I may be bold, it does look like you are not too keen on making compromises either.

The only compromise you've suggested is being your attendant. I don't it's really fair to call me uncompromising for not immediately jumping on that opportunity.

To me it matters not whether you take the position as retainer or not, your highness. However I do take offense in your words suggesting that I would be incapable of taking care of people whom I take under my protection, despite my limited resources.

Not particularly, no. Unless you were working for me.

Your sense of empathy is awfully self-serving.

I have never considered myself to be overly empathetic person. But I can be reasonable.

The conversations on these things are visible to anyone, aren't they? You might do some snooping.

I am quite certain you can't give permission for other people, your grace.

The fact that it's public is inherently permission. These things can have private conversations after all, correct? He'd have used that function if he cared about anyone else hearing.
