[Quentin's still not back home.
He takes a long breath, mostly to get his feelings somewhat under control. His roommate is a huge asshole, but he's worried and everything. Maybe he should just do text, but whatever, he's going through with this.]
If anyone has seen Quentin Quire around, tell him to stop fucking around and come back. He's uh.
[Fuck, what is his normal hair color?????]
He's a dweeb with a mohawk and glasses. Usually wearing some stupid t-shirt with a slogan on it. Anyway, tell him that his room is starting to smell.
[Please don't be gone. Fuck. Did he get lost in the middle of all this bullshit? Trapped somewhere? Sent 'home?' They just went through that whole stupid thing with the alternative life and now Aldrip is a city, so he's feeling all kind of ways. He's really confused and upset and he doesn't know what he's supposed to do, but he's starting here.]
Oh, I'm calling a mandatory 'we're going to the movie theater' event to all members of TWAT club. Don't feel like going? Too bad, don't care, you're going-- that's what mandatory means. Leader's orders.
[He just wants to do something normal with his friends okay--]

Don't be like one of those boring adults that turn their nose up on technology, that's lame.
no subject
I'm not turning up my nose at technology, I just don't like being treated like a little kid!
no subject
[Like a kid--] Okay, prove it to me. Go to the movies and yes, I know you can't see it, but it'll be fun.
no subject
Toph scowls. ] What's a movie?
no subject
[This is the... third time he's explaining this? Oh well.]
You have plays back home, right? Just think of movies as plays, except with way better sound effects. [And visuals, but.] And you don't need the actors there to watch a movie, they're recorded and shit.
no subject
And it's on the screen like this thing? ... Hate to break it to you, but I can actually feel when real life people are moving around. The flat surface does absolutely nothing for me.
[ She's prepared to be proven wrong and enjoy it, but she's just gonna make her point clear first. ]
I'll give it a try, but it might be super boring.
no subject
[Guess bigger doesn't necessarily mean better for her...]
It won't be. [But hey, she's giving it a try, that's definitely a step. Guess that's all Scott can really ask for, besides Toph enjoying it--] But if you end up hating it, I promise not to force you to watch a movie again.
[...] Because then I'll just have to convince you with the arcade.
no subject
Thanks. We can try the arcade anyway. I like plays and I like playing games, I just don't like feeling like I'm missing half of what's going on.
no subject
You'll definitely find something in the arcade. Here, let me help you envision one of the games...
[A beat of silence, so he can build this up.]
You have a hammer. And you whack a bunch of fake moles. Or you can imagine a bunch of Jerrys in your case. It probably makes the game better.
no subject
She snorts. ] I'm pretty fond of moles, so I'll take the Jerrys, thanks. And I love whacking things.
I'm down.
no subject
Whack-A-Jerry? I like the sound of that.
[If only they can actually modify the machine to look like that. Be a pain in the ass, but... kind of worth it. Maybe future project for someone once Scott figures it out. If Jerry gets pissed at him later, oh well.] Down for doing it today? Or have to get yourself prepared?
no subject
I'm plenty prepared. Where do you want me to meet you? I've been trying to learn the new layout of the city -- I can probably find wherever you want to meet.
no subject
[Shouldn't he be looking for Quentin just a little bit more? Probably. And he is. He'll keep an eye out while going to the arcade, not to mention that he's been searching for a while now. He just needs a little break from that upset feeling.
And because of that, he has to throw in something extra--] I bet I'll beat you there.
no subject
[ Toph takes her responsibilities seriously, and she also takes it seriously that sometimes people just need to let loose. No guilt here for taking a break from the drama and tragedy. ]
no subject
[He just knows the exact path to the arcade, even now with the changes. He had to make sure that one of his favorite spots was still around and everything. But nah, why admit that advantage?]
I think someone here is just afraid of losing.
no subject
You're on.
[ Now that she's thinking of it, maybe Scott doesn't realize she can get around pretty darn fast with her bending? She can't remember if he knows she's the clinic's emergency medical transport or not... but she's certainly not going to take it easy on him. ]
no subject
[He still feels a little bad about not searching for Quentin more, but it's fine. He'll make up for it. Not to mention that Toph probably needs a distraction as well from all the shit with the false memories and everything.
But, yeah. He's on his way! He definitely knows the path to the arcade, but it's not like he has any special means to get there faster...]
no subject
Scott beats her there, but that also means he gets to watch her come sliding in like she's skating with the earth and stone rippling beneath her to rise and meet her feet. She leaves behind her a clean, untouched road again, which is the real impressive part, honestly.
Not that she's here to brag. She comes skidding to a halt and points an insistent finger at Scott. ]
Okay, you won, but that's the last thing you're going to win today.
no subject
At the very least she won't have to see his very impressed expression when she comes sliding in on her makeshift road. It's really amazing though. Just... seeing someone that has so much control over their powers and everything. She's fluid and there's not a single hiccup even as she leaves the ground behind her in a perfect state, like she wasn't just cascading across the road there.
He really is impressed. Sure, he's seen other teens use their powers and stuff, but... guess nothing really like this. Changing the environment around them. Not to mention she's doing this blind.
Luckily, Toph's remark brings up that more competitive nature in Scott and with his hands placed on his hips, he snarks back.]
Bold words made against the king of the arcade.
[Since when, Scott?? Since now.] Especially since the current tally is Scott: 1, Toph: 0.
no subject
For now, [ she shoots back immediately, a natural and a veteran at shit talking. ]
You better not take it easy on me, because I'm going to absolutely humiliate you at Whack-A-Jerry and you're gonna need the points.
