They just went through that whole stupid thing with the alternative life and now Aldrip is a city, so he's feeling all kind of ways. And it's on the screen like this thing? ... Hate to break it to you, but I can actually feel when real life people are moving around. The flat surface does absolutely nothing for me.

[ She's prepared to be proven wrong and enjoy it, but she's just gonna make her point clear first. ]

[ She'll definitely give it a fair shake. Toph likes entertainment, she likes dramas and she already knows she likes plays, just as long as she can appreciate them without being reminded yet again of what she's missing out on. ]

Thanks. We can try the arcade anyway. I like plays and I like playing games, I just don't like feeling like I'm missing half of what's going on.

[ Toph is starting to feel pretty comfortable with Scott thanks to his casual attitude -- it reminds her of her friends back home -- so she doesn't feel like she needs to play it quite so close to the chest. Of course she doesn't like feeling like she's missing out, and she can admit it.

She snorts. ] I'm pretty fond of moles, so I'll take the Jerrys, thanks. And I love whacking things.

[Toph definitely seems like the type to enjoy whacking things--]

[ It's all harmless fun, and if you can't criticize the people in charge then you probably need to overthrow them in Toph's opinion. ]

I'm plenty prepared. Where do you want me to meet you? I've been trying to learn the new layout of the city -- I can probably find wherever you want to meet.

[Shouldn't he be looking for Quentin just a little bit more? Probably. And he is. He'll keep an eye out while going to the arcade, not to mention that he's been searching for a while now. He just needs a little break from that upset feeling.

[ Toph takes her responsibilities seriously, and she also takes it seriously that sometimes people just need to let loose. No guilt here for taking a break from the drama and tragedy. ]

[He just knows the exact path to the arcade, even now with the changes. He had to make sure that one of his favorite spots was still around and everything. But nah, why admit that advantage?]

[ Now that she's thinking of it, maybe Scott doesn't realize she can get around pretty darn fast with her bending? She can't remember if he knows she's the clinic's emergency medical transport or not... but she's certainly not going to take it easy on him. ]

[He still feels a little bad about not searching for Quentin more, but it's fine. He'll make up for it. Not to mention that Toph probably needs a distraction as well from all the shit with the false memories and everything.

But, yeah. He's on his way! He definitely knows the path to the arcade, but it's not like he has any special means to get there faster...]

[ He is completely correct that Toph could also use a distraction -- she's trying to put across that she's totally over it, but the emotions her fake memories stirred up are still churning away in her, uncomfortable and viscous.

Scott beats her there, but that also means he gets to watch her come sliding in like she's skating with the earth and stone rippling beneath her to rise and meet her feet. She leaves behind her a clean, untouched road again, which is the real impressive part, honestly.

Not that she's here to brag. She comes skidding to a halt and points an insistent finger at Scott. ]

Okay, you won, but that's the last thing you're going to win today.

[Why is Toph so cool........

At the very least she won't have to see his very impressed expression when she comes sliding in on her makeshift road. It's really amazing though. Just... seeing someone that has so much control over their powers and everything. She's fluid and there's not a single hiccup even as she leaves the ground behind her in a perfect state, like she wasn't just cascading across the road there.

He really is impressed. Sure, he's seen other teens use their powers and stuff, but... guess nothing really like this. Changing the environment around them. Not to mention she's doing this blind.

Luckily, Toph's remark brings up that more competitive nature in Scott and with his hands placed on his hips, he snarks back.]

[ It's true that she is just super cool. It's kind of her thing. Fortunately, Toph doesn't need constant ego validation, especially not from friends -- and Scott is growing to be a friend. Around her age and willing to have fun and isn't a jerk, that's good enough for her. ]

For now, [ she shoots back immediately, a natural and a veteran at shit talking. ]
