[ When Cloud rolls out of his bed at the inn, he squints at the skyline of Aldrip. Squints at the phone-like device on his table, squints at the incoming light as if somewhat offended at how it's not making dealing with the last month of... whatever that was.
He decides the best course of action is to not get out of bed about it. ]
okay, so, like
let's say i have a friend
and this friend might be a little confused about the city.
and maybe this friend is having a little trouble with like
[ ...He was going to say memory issues, and maybe "hey what the fuck happened for the past three weeks", but you know what — until he's sure he's not the only one experiencing them he's just gonna. Not. Talk about that. ]
let me start over
i'm new here.

the way it is now is too much like my home for my taste.
guess i should be glad there's not a steel plate 300m over our heads, at least.
then i'd really start being concerned.
though, flying cars sound like it'd be a recipe for disaster. no roads? no thanks.

okay yeah, there are a bunch of idiots around here that would crash. i don't trust some of these people driving a regular car.
[scott you see everything in red and your peripheral vision sucks.]

remind me to tell you about midgar sometime, scott.
because, yeah, plate over our heads, have literally living about the have-nots—
you hit the nail on the head.
exactly.
you introduce flying cars, you say "roads don't exist".
and let me tell you, that sounds scarier to me than just your standard expressway.

[This is probably being insensitive--]
you know, learning about other places is important.
[Totally recovered.] what about only really qualified people can drive flying cars? like me.

i mean, i guess i can talk about it a little bit while i get my bearings.
if you're that interested.
[ Definitely played it off, Scott. 100%. ]
well, i don't see why not.
certainly some people here would have to know how to drive.
what are your qualifications?

back home when i look at the sky, i simply can. i mean, it's red and everything now, but that's more of a me problem than living in a post-apocalyptic world.
[Look he's even poking at himself for this!!]
don't worry i already have a special permit.
[Basically this]
