[Rolo's not generally bothered by what anyone thinks, but somehow this feels like an extremely embarrassing thing to have to ask, so he sticks with posting anonymously like he has been so far.]

How does one go about "forming bonds" with people on purpose?

Well, having a shared interest is always a good way to make friends. There's a few clubs around here that you could join, like the cooking club. Or you can just make a letter about something you like and see who else likes it too.

What kind of hobbies do you have? Do you like reading?

I read when I need to. I wouldn't really call it a hobby.

Actually, the words sort of remind Med'an of his mother. She'd had an incredibly rough childhood, raised by cultists and warmongers. He knows she's awkward around people now, and doesn't have a lot of friends. He wonders if she's ever realized that she didn't have any hobbies, either...

Finding out what you like to do for fun is a good way to make friends. We can start with reading if you want. I've got books I can recommend.

Or maybe something physical, like a game or a sport? I like climbing trees. [That totally counts as a sport, right...]

Reading is probably better.

[Not that he's generally in bad shape or poor health outside of when using his Geass, but maybe it's wiser not to tempt fate when he sorta kinda has a heart condition.]

Okay, we can do that. The library in town has a bunch of good novels - if you like adventure I found one called The Origin of Twilight which is about going to an alternate dimension, or there's a really cool mystery story called The Mysterious Disappearance of the Mountain Village. That's about...you know...a village that disappears. In the mountains.

[It's probably good that Med'an doesn't know about emojis, because if he did, there'd be a bunch here.]

Then when you find out what you like to read, you can see who else likes it too. Like I'm doing now! Haha.

The other one is really fun. It's kind of comedic, but still clever. I didn't know the answer to the mystery until the very end.

You know, if you end up liking reading, we could start a book club. Maybe other people would want to join in.
