002 | video

[Yu is frowning at his parchment when the video starts; he continues for a moment, turning the paper over in his hands, examining it closely, thoughtful and maybe a little...hm, bewildered. Concerned.

He puts it down when he realizes the video is ready to record.]

Has anyone had a change in the crime they were charged with, after they got here? If so, was there a catalyst, or did it seem random?

[... he hesitates for a second before adding,] For those it applies to: did the new charge seem more fitting, or less?

... Thanks.

[He turns it off there.]

It does. Especially since it's a completely false accusation, in my case. [And the fact that she's completed her sentencing and nothing has really changed!! Not that she actually thought she'd get to go home so easily, but she didn't even get to talk to the Council, let alone plead her case, or anything.

It was beyond frustrating.]

I've noticed that as well. And there's been a number of people with crimes that are true, but very modest in comparison to other things they've done.

[She's wondered the same thing. It makes no sense. What is the point of rehabilitation over something she didn't even do?? This law system was more than just a little flawed.]

I've thought the same thing. Which seems.. strange. Especially given this place is to be a punishment. Why leave something like that to random chance?

[Wouldn't they want to go with the most severe crime? Wouldn't it make more sense, if they want to rehabilitate criminals, to pick actual criminals? There's so much about everything that really makes no sense about this place.]

I've wondered that too. I asked Jerry when I met him, but he just insisted it was "rehabilitation". Which could mean a lot of different things, honestly. His answers were all just...vague.

[which is not helpful!! There had to be more to it, but it would be nice if their captors would be open about the rules and what they were doing!!]
