video; a community poll
Hello again, everyone. I have something to ask you all.
If you were given the chance, what sort of questions would you ask of the Council? What sort of demands, if any, would you make of them? I will be gathering responses from everyone who replies and compiling them into a concise list which will hopefully be presented to the Council at a later date.
If you'd prefer to give your answer in person, I'll be making a rotation of the other-worlder housing area as well as the inn.
(ooc: For characters who can't/won't etc. answer a network post, William can be spoken to in-person! Feel free to assume he came knocking on the character's door or they can approach him at the new Church of Many Faiths he established earlier this month.
For players who are too busy to thread anything out, feel free to send me a PM with your character's answer. I understand we're heading into a busy/tiring month but it will be helpful to have as many IC answers as possible before the start of the new year!)

It'd be nice to know if they could just, you know, chill.
[ Don't worry, Ange will.. probably.. have something a little more insightful to add in a moment. But she can't help this deadpan kneejerk response at the mention of the Council first. ]

[ He's looking down as he writes her response on some paper he has ready. ]

[ For a moment it almost sounds like she'll leave it at that entirely unhelpful piece of clarification, but then Ange does say more, seeming to have actually thought for a moment. ]
It's like they don't understand that the way they do things without bothering to explain anything to us only makes some among us want to make their life harder. [ Not.. Ange, really. She's not part of the crew that loves to harass the Council people.
But she's sure seen it, and she can kind of understand where the sentiment is coming from. The Council sure don't seem to care about making themselves popular. ] It'd be in their best interest too if they were more communicative.

[ She'd take it. Not that it would improve her opinion of the Council a whole lot, especially with how hard Ange generally is to please, but..
.. well, it'd be better than nothing, right. ]
But I'd especially want them to be more clear about why they're doing any of this. Whether they really believe we've committed the crimes this place assigned us. If they're reporting to some sort of higher source.
so sorry, week has been horrid
[ He thinks for a few moments. ]
Actually, I always wondered how that paper appeared with us. It doesn't seem to rip or tear or burn at all. I'd assumed the gods were the one who left them with us, but I wonder if the Council knows anything about them.
that's alright! <3 thank you for getting back to the thread!

[ Straight to the point! It probably sounds dangerously close to a threat, but don't worry about it. ]

I think a lot of people feel the same way. I've been trying to keep myself busy but I'd really like to go back home.
no subject
[ Almost to an annoying degree. Sure, they can stay here for all he cares, but the Council should at least give him and others who'd rather go home an opportunity to do so. ]

[ He smiles grimly. ]
That said, when you do find an opening, you should seize it as soon as you can.
[ Just like if you were fighting a monster! ]

I suppose rules like... "Don't murder others" and "don't steal from others" are the basic expectations of any society. It would be difficult to live in a community where that is permissible.
no subject
[Don't steal wasn't always a rule where he came from. Well, it was a rule but often ignored. Murder though was still mostly wrong, unless the victim was on the other side of the war. Or the gods wanted blood.]

[ The girl taps her finger on her chin thoughtfully. Really, at this point they still have way more questions than they do answers. ]
Another thing I've been thinking about lately is... how many Chosen have there been before the ones currently here? Surely, we can't be the first ones, considering how well-prepared Aldrip was to deal with our arrival.
no subject
I think you may be right about people having been 'Chosen' before us. There was a town in the desert we visited some months ago and it seemed to have been abandoned. But they had technology that didn't match with anything in Aldrip. It made me think that they could have been the first ones brought over by the gods.
no subject
[ She'd been wondering about those! Especially since it feels like having one of those is frowned upon in Aldrip itself... ]
I was under the impression the residents of Aldrip aren't too fond of those... and if that's the case, then one has to wonder if the people of that town turned their backs on Aldrip's approach, or perhaps even sentencing system as a whole.

Even if Aldrip had shunned this technology, the gap in advancement is oddly wide. You would think that some conveniences would be shared, wouldn't you?
[ Then again, the desert had been quite far away... ]

And I would like to know how they bring people back from the dead.

Those are fair questions. If they can bring people back from the dead in order to judge them, then that's troubling indeed.

I actually thought I had arrived in the afterlife when I awoke in the fields outside Aldrip. I'm certainly more troubled by the notion that we're being brought here at the behest of other mortals who still haven't explained why.
