Good evening everyone.

My name is Goro Akechi. Some of you might already know me, seeing this marks as the seventh month for me here in Aldrip. I have been collecting and documenting information about this world, all while pursuing the truth behind our presence here. But first things first:

[TLDR: The Council, Sentencing, Legal Advise!]

I believe most of us were surprised by the sudden emergence of governmental power called 'The Council' and their lackey 'Jerry.' However, I do believe their arrival, along with this 'Sentencing' program matches the mood of the town ever since leaving the maze. We, the so-called Chosen, have been treated with suspicion and distrust. It could very well be that it is locals' reaction that summoned the authority figures.

But speaking of the Sentencing. Me and another individual, Osamu Dazai, have established a Law Consultation Agency to help those who have been picked to by the program. We both have worked as investigators and along with those who are dealing with law in our own worlds, so I believe our experience could help those who are stuck with these abrupt tasks set by the council. I'd appreciate if those who have had the run-in with Jerry or the Council were to approach us and share their experiences.

So far, they have been reluctant to give us any clear criminal code, which leads me to believe that there isn't one. Despite being granted a grand sounding title as The Chosen it is important to remember that we aren't citizens here, exactly. Meaning we don't enjoy the same privileges as the locals here. Whether that means we are merely prisoners or if there another reason for our presence here? That I don't know of. But at the moment all the signs indicate that we aren't the first group of 'Chosen' to have brought into this world.

Your job sounds kinda hard if no one's gonna tell us the laws and we ain't even citizens. Like what legal advice can you even give for that?

that is the problem, yes. but leaving the sentencing task requirements vague gives a plenty of room for loopholes. finding those and knowing how to defend oneself in front of an authority figure without creating more conflict is where we come in.

ah, my apologies.

when we first arrived here the locals welcomed the Chosen with open arms, treating us with the utmost kindness. this, however, changed about a little over month ago. one night in september the town transformed into a gigantic maze with different levels that we had to clear while facing our fears, insecurities and memories related to the crimes in our parchments. after a few days the maze disappeared and town returned back to 'normal.' except that none of the locals had any memories about the maze and their attitude had changed from friendly to suspicious and distrusting.

soon after these events we received a message from a man called Jerry, who represented the council, a governing figure that had stayed hidden until now. they choose among the chosen people to put on a trial in a form of 'sentencing'. in practice this means that a person who is picked is given a task based on their crime and asked to fulfill within a time limit or face repercussions.

these tasks, as far as I'm aware, range from physical acts to mental reflection.

So the town changed, you guys had to deal with some personal shit, and now it's changed again. We sure it's even the same thing it was before? I mean this place doesn't seem to really respect any sort of consistent timeline or whatever.

I guess that's what the notes we showed up here said, right? Something about our crimes and whatever. Okay, so people get picked and they gotta do their community service or whatever.

What then? Seems like a weird charade to go through.

so you're suggesting a parallel universe? quite interesting theory, while there isn't much to support that I do think it's worthy of looking into. I've noticed the varying timelines as well. there was someone from my world here before but she was from my past. it could very well be that this place is playing around with multiverse theory.

it seems like this Jerry-person doesn't hesitate using force to make one submit to the the sentencing. there are also side effects such as physical fatigue, weakness and nightmares if you decide to ignore it.

wouldn't be the weirdest thing about this place. Apparently there was already some other me here who had way different memories and stuff. So if there's other versions of back home, why not other versions of here?

Huh. Alright. And what about after you do the sentence thing? You get anything for that? Or is it just a power play from them?

another you? I've heard that those who are brought back after disappearing hold no memories of their previous stay, but never about having alternative memories. what are the differences between you and this "other you" if you don't mind me asking?

that might just be it. after all, we have been brought here to atone for our sins.

Yeah its like that except apparently the last me here actually knew Kotone.

I never met her before showing up here. She knows me from back home, but she and Ken don't know the guy I knew in her place. I dunno if she just didn't exist or of something else happened.

I didn't ask too much more about the other me, so who knows what else is different.

Yeah sure. Atoning in some other dimension where nothing from your life fucking matters. What a load of shit.

I've known plenty, so it ain't surprising that there's more. The starry-eyed special feeling wears off after a few years.

'it' is a he. morgana wielded saber-styled swords and was also able to use wind magic. his cat form changed into more mascot-like when we entered metaverse, making him able to walk on two legs and use his front paws as hands.
