Yeah. A little sister and an older brother. He died a couple of years back, though. A half-brother, too, but I'm figuring that part out right now.

[He doesn't bother with an "I'm sorry" sentiment. Something tells him Mikey wouldn't appreciate it.]

Mhm. Until I got here, I was staying with my uncle and my cousin. She's... [like a sister, he almost says, but stops himself.] ...A really good kid.

[There's a particular way he smiles when he talks about Nanako that's reserved for her. No one else.]

(ah. a smile, a new one. it's nice.)

Tell me about her.

[izanagis]

Nanako. She's six. [... Ah, wait, it's October, isn't it? Her birthday.] ... Seven, now, actually. Smart, cheerful, kind. Her dad's not around as much, so I ended up spending a lot of time with her.

Dads are overrated, anyway. So, she's a kid, huh? You teaching her that loyalty of yours?

[izanagis]

He's a good guy, more or less. He cares, he just...works a lot. [...] My parents are the same. I guess she reminded me of myself as a kid. Independent, but lonely.

[Wow, Mikey, you've got him basically spilling his guts. Anyway, he grimaces a bit at that loyalty comment.]

Your turn. Tell me about your sister.

You got parents? What your people do?

(plural? yu, parents PLURAL? woah.)

Her name's Emma. She's my half-sister on my father's side, so she came to live with us when she was around three. She's cute. Likes cosmetics, does tarot for fun, aesthetics, is crazy in love with my Vice President. She participates in the Manji rallies sometimes, too, but she isn't a member or anything, she just grew up with it.

[izanagis]

[He's noticed that, actually. Lightly, he nods,] Yeah. I seem to be in the minority, here.

[He considers himself lucky, in a way. No matter what his relationship with them is like.]

She sounds fun. You two get along well? [He imagines, if she goes to rallies and the like...]

We do. I'm only called 'Mikey' so I could match with her. I love her very much, and she's very clingy, though.

Clingy isn't such a bad thing, is it?

Tell me about your parents?

[izanagis]

His parents, huh...Yu hums thoughtfully for a second.] They're always busy with work, so we're not close. They were away on business for the last year, so I was living with my uncle.

Is that normal? For you to just live with other people?

[izanagis]

I wouldn't say it's totally unusual. Better than leaving someone on their own for a year, I guess.

[invinciblemikey]

If you're okay with it, then you're okay with it. You wanna work like that too? Go abroad?

[izanagis]

I don't think so. Moving around all the time...it gets lonely, when you have to keep uprooting everything.

Then what do you want to do? Any ideas-- actually, how old are you?

I haven't thought much about it. I figured I'd finish high school first and see what interests me.

[aka he's a nerd with a lot of interests]

I think that's fair.

... Fifteen. Ain't even in high school yet, but I don't think I'd pass those damned entrance exams, so I might as well just drop out.

[izanagis]

If you could pass them, would you want to?

[He doesn't get the impression that Mikey cares much about academics, but maybe he's wrong.]

Maybe. Depends on where everyone is studying.
