[ It's not often that Ragna feels the need to address a wider audience, and he's certainly not happy to do so right now, but there have been some recent... developments that are forcing his hand here, because he feels like going any longer without answers to his questions might drive him crazy. No need for introductions or context, he just gets straight to the point. ]
do people here ever find some shit for them when they wake up like there's some crazy fucking Santa Claus going around?
or hear some creepy voices when trying to use the charm things?
those... things from the desert didn't follow us here or anything, right?
[ Wait, what is he even saying? That's almost like he's admitting to being unsettled by this whole thing and he can't have this. ]
asking for a friend
[ Nailed it. ]

I'll make sure to do just that once a person like that magically manifests themselves into existence
[ Which is to say he doesn't exactly... trust people. He understands where she's coming from with that, so he's not necessarily criticizing the idea, just... pointing out the obvious flaw in the plan. ]
what, there are images showing up wrong, too? that's messed up

[ .. a slight pause after that message, since Ange isn't too sure whether or not to say the next part..
But-- screw it. She's writing it and sending it anyway. ]
Also, is it really that hard to trust someone when it comes to this? I understand it when it comes to the bigger stuff, but it's really not that embarrassing to admit you're hearing something weird, right?
You don't magically stop being tough just because you're asking questions.

[ Somebody should keep some sort of chronicle so people who arrive later could have something to help them catch up on all the weird shit that goes on here... not that he would've wasted his time reading it even if one was provided.
Ragna raises his eyebrow at the message that follows, and thanks the heavens this is just text because that last sentence in particular makes him sputter a bit. Now, in his mind, he really shouldn't have to explain himself to anyone, but leaving her to assume shit like this about him feels wrong. ]
that's not the point
[ Well, okay, that is partially the point, but now that she's worded it like this, it would be embarrassing to admit that. Regardless─ ]
trusting anyone in a place like this seems like the fastest way to end up with a knife in your back. and if we've established that's out of question, then I might as well ask the general population to get as many answers as possible, no?
[ There is... some logic to his way of thinking, no matter how twisted. And no, he will not address the fact some of his actions here could, in fact, be considered something close to putting his trust into others. Nope, that never happens. ]

Alright.
[ Kind of an underwhelming answer when he typed so much, right.. But being brief here actually feels like the better thing to do here - to Ange, at least. She doesn't know whether he's justifying it to herself or to her, and how much he actually believes in it, so she might as well back off on that topic and leave him with this, rather than dig into it.
It's not really any of her business in the first place, anyway. ]
But in regards to it having happened before or not-- Haven't you heard from any of the people who have been here longer than us? Surely they'd know.
no subject
just about it happening now
nothing about it being a thing before
at least so far
no subject
Which means, I guess, that we're the first weirdos here.
[ VERY REASSURING, ANGE.. T-Thanks, girl.. ]
Though I'm pretty sure it has something more to do with these pendants than with us specifically, if I were to guess. I haven't been seeing or hearing anything weird as long as I'm not using my pendant, anyway.

[ Can a text message drip with sarcasm? Apparently so. ]
these things aren't exactly trustworthy anyway
for all we know whoever brought us here might be reading all this
no subject
In that case, you should leave a message for them right now. If they're listening in anyway.
no subject
[ ... wait. ]
not you
I meant them
[ That went well. ]

Who knew that Ange would one day meet someone so bad at this entire social thing that they make even her look good. This is a small miracle, for better or worse. ]
Thanks.
[ It's just that one word too. For a moment. Perhaps to truly let it sink in how socially awkward what you just did was, Ragna!!
But then Ange does at least seem to add to it. ]
I don't think they're reading along though. Unless you suddenly got hit by lighting or something equally petty.
1/2
[ Which is good, because he's gotten hit by lighting in the past multiple times and he would not recommend the experience. ]
no subject
wait a minute
if you thought that could happen, then why did you tell me to do it?!
no subject
I thought you were a tough guy.
[ It's.. not even her trolling him here, honestly, though it's easy to mistake it, especially over text..
It's just that Ragna has powers that definitely seemed supernatural to her when she witnessed him using them in combat the other month. Clearly that means he can withstand things most humans can't, right? ]
no subject
[ Not even an exaggeration. He can't have her think he's not tough enough for it─ not that he cares what she thinks, of course! ]
doesn't mean I wanna get hit by one
hurts like hell
no subject
After all, she knows what immortal beings act like. Nearly invulnerable beings. They have a certain air to them that Ragna doesn't have whatsoever - he seems more like he's on her level, despite being way tougher than her. ]
Would you rather have it happen to me then?
I'd die.
[ ANGE....
Though that's probably still too relaxed of a way to type this sort of thing out, let's be real. ]
no subject
where the hell did that come from?? I never said that!
[ Why do people always insist on putting words in his mouth like that? Yes, he may be purposely keeping people at an arm's length, but there's a world of difference between that and wishing for their demise! ]
'sides, you feel like the type to throw lightning around, not one getting hit by it!
[ Now that he thinks about it, between her attitude, abilities, and the willingness to randomly boss him around, the resemblance between her and Rachel is almost uncanny. ]
no subject
[ She's definitely proving his point here. Even though if she had that kind of power, she at least wouldn't be using it on Ragna - but actually saying that sort of thing is going to make her look way too nice and sappy, so of course she's not going to do it. ]
Unfortunately my magic isn't that strong.
And it's not like there's any way to learn new magic here.
[ I-Is she saying she'd otherwise learn how to throw around lighting.. ]
no subject
is that so?
you could probably ask around and find someone who can use that kinda magic to teach you
[ Please don't make him regret suggesting that, Ange... ]
no subject
Even if that might not be very obvious. ]
You think there's someone here who can do that?
I think we would've seen a whole lot more lightning being flung around back in the desert if that were the case. I only saw a guy who was using magical chains to bind those things we were fighting. I don't think I saw any magic other than that. [ Sure, there were Ragna's own abilities, which sure aren't normal human things either.. But that seemed much more like a part of him, so it feels different than necessarily regular magic casting. ]
no subject
it's magic and shit
can't you like learn to cast various elemental spells and such?
[ Granted, his experience with magic comes mostly from dealing with Nine, who was one of the most powerful mages in history... so maybe it's a little unfair of him to have such expectations of this girl, but again, he has no clue how any magic system actually works, let alone one from a different world. ]
no subject
How powerful do you think I am, Ragna?
[ Darn, she's using his name.
It's serious. ]
no subject
[ How is he supposed to know the multiversal power charts? He can only go by the standards of his world, and as far as he knows, anyone who uses magic is insanely strong. ]
dunno
you can use magic, so
hella powerful, I'm guessing?
no subject
[ Look, Ange isn't afraid to admit it. She saw Ragna fighting back there, and she can definitely acknowledge when someone is stronger than her, even just abilities-wise.
Especially when most people are stronger than she is. ]
I'm really weak. It's kind of pathetic, really. But that's why it'd be nice to find some way to get more powerful here. I don't just want to be a punching bag for whatever threat appears next.
