OKCINDR POST #7

Ever wanted to have CR with a character and wasn't sure how to get them to cross paths? Wanted a dating app so you can hook up with hot people? Wanted to just find friends because you're a lonely bastard?

With the update of the tablets and the apps, we now have a dating / friendship app called OKCINDR! Players can use it as they please for the two months that it's up -- just imagine that they're profiles to swipe right on and everything. The idea is to encourage CR that may be difficult to get with characters who may or may not be interested in events / posts / logs / other network posts.

So, on May 2nd, characters randomly look back at their tablets to see the following:

OKCINDR PROFILE RESET #7
PLEASE RESET PROFILE

This month, if players reset their profile, they will have a list of questions to answer:

- Do you like long walks on the beach?
- What's your favorite hobby?
- What's the best kind of crime?
- Are you a criminal or a judge?
- Are snakes friends?
- Will they be mad I changed them?
- What would you do to protect someone?
- What if I lost them forever?
- Have you ever thought of gardening?
- How do you know when someone is lying?
- Where do you think those who disappear end up? Or do you think they never truly left?

Players, of course, are able to ignore this message. However, if a character wouldn't fill it out but a player would like to participate... the profile mysteriously resets itself. There may even be responses sent from Character A to Character B without Character A actually doing anything, if you'd like! This is a completely opt-in scenario! But for players who would like to participate fill out the post:

network profile
Character_Name
@username
ABOUT_ME

If you'd like to for shits and giggles, here's some notifications that may be used:

Name (@username) followed you

Name (@username) unfollowed you

Name (@username) blocked you

Have fun! Code credit.

Do you not have answers just because, or because you can't remember them?

You mean the thing that was written for me?

It's a little bit of both. I'm not sure I'd put it the way that description did, though. I don't remember a lot of things about myself, but I've got workplace confidentiality to keep in mind too.

Workplace confidentiality? Do you have to keep that even here?

I'm not sure, but... I don't know?

I feel like if someone from the same company back home heard I talked about certain things, I'd be in big trouble.

Really? Your work sounds hard.

[It take a long time for them to respond.

It's probably just a simple nothing of a phrase, an acknowledgement along the lines of "Yep, sure is cloudy out today" or "that looks like it hurt" or "sounds fun." Maybe it's only hitting them the way it is because of the mood they've been in lately.

But... it's nice for it to be acknowledged. Even in this small, nothing way.]

It can be. I can't say it's all bad, but there's definitely a lot to it.

I'd ask you for an example, but you probably can't share much.
followyourstar: (18)

[personal profile] followyourstar 2025-05-09 03:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Not much, no, but I can share some things.

Like... the whole wish monster thing from a little while ago. The company I work for deals with things like that on a regular basis. It's not exactly the same, but it was close enough that I had a good idea what to do when all that was happening.

[personal profile] memori3s 2025-05-09 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
You've seen something similar?

I've never heard of a company that deals with monsters like that.
followyourstar: (09)

[personal profile] followyourstar 2025-05-09 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Frequently. I don't know just how common Distortions are when compared to everything going on in the City, but apparently it's common enough for something like Limbus Company to be established.
memori3s: (09)

[personal profile] memori3s 2025-05-11 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
Distortions? City?
followyourstar: (15)

[personal profile] followyourstar 2025-05-11 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. Right.

Where I come from, there's only one city. It's a lot bigger than Aldrip, too. And Distortions are similar to the wish monsters that were around? Except I wouldn't say they're caused by wishes. More like everything around them falling apart.

[personal profile] memori3s 2025-05-11 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
There's only one city?

[ This is the strangest thing about what Dante's shared with him. ]
followyourstar: (18)

[personal profile] followyourstar 2025-05-11 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but like I said, it's *big.* All of Aldrip could easily fit inside one District, with room to spare.
memori3s: (09)

[personal profile] memori3s 2025-05-11 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh.

So there's nothing outside the city?
followyourstar: (02)

[personal profile] followyourstar 2025-05-12 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
There are some villages, apparently, but I don't know exactly what's out there. We haven't had much reason to leave.

[personal profile] memori3s 2025-05-13 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
Is it common to never leave the city there?
followyourstar: (16)

[personal profile] followyourstar 2025-05-13 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
I think so. People outside want to get in, but I don't hear about too many people who want to leave the City outright. Probably because of how dangerous the Outskirts are.
memori3s: (08)

[personal profile] memori3s 2025-05-13 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
The city sounds pretty dangerous too though.
followyourstar: (18)

[personal profile] followyourstar 2025-05-13 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh it definitely is. Life in the Outskirts doesn't sound great, but life in the City has its own problems. It's probably more accurate to say they're just different rather than one being better than the other.
memori3s: (68)

[personal profile] memori3s 2025-05-14 03:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Problems no matter where you go.

[ Sounds rough... ]

Grass is always greener on the other side.
followyourstar: (09)

[personal profile] followyourstar 2025-05-14 04:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep. Guess it's up to the person who got there to decide whether or not it was worth it in the end.
memori3s: (09)

[personal profile] memori3s 2025-05-16 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Would you go beyond the City if you had the choice?
followyourstar: (28)

[personal profile] followyourstar 2025-05-16 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I've been there at least twice (though I'm not sure if one counts since I don't know exactly where we were on the water out there?). I think I'm good on trips out of the City for now.

Oh.

My world sounds a lot quieter than yours...
