Ever wanted to have CR with a character and wasn't sure how to get them to cross paths? Wanted a dating app so you can hook up with hot people? Wanted to just find friends because you're a lonely bastard?

With the update of the tablets and the apps, we now have a dating / friendship app called OKCINDR! Players can use it as they please for the two months that it's up -- just imagine that they're profiles to swipe right on and everything. The idea is to encourage CR that may be difficult to get with characters who may or may not be interested in events / posts / logs / other network posts.

So, on May 2nd, characters randomly look back at their tablets to see the following:

This month, if players reset their profile, they will have a list of questions to answer:

- Do you like long walks on the beach?
- What's your favorite hobby?
- What's the best kind of crime?
- Are you a criminal or a judge?
- Are snakes friends?
- Will they be mad I changed them?
- What would you do to protect someone?
- What if I lost them forever?
- Have you ever thought of gardening?
- How do you know when someone is lying?
- Where do you think those who disappear end up? Or do you think they never truly left?

Players, of course, are able to ignore this message. However, if a character wouldn't fill it out but a player would like to participate... the profile mysteriously resets itself. There may even be responses sent from Character A to Character B without Character A actually doing anything, if you'd like! This is a completely opt-in scenario! But for players who would like to participate fill out the post:

This messenger is known for being vague and avoiding our questions, so the answer wasn't a surprise. You may hear it referred to as "Jerry."

I have heard that name more than a few times, and had wondered.

People like to blame it for our struggles given that it's the only aspect of the simulation we've seen that has a face, but to my knowledge, it's only a simple construct created by the AI itself.

[Lecturing in Jerry's direction can be satisfying, though.]

I cannot help but suppose the AI has given us a target for our frustrations out of design.

Possibly. It does prevent us from taking all of them out on one another.

You might be right. I've heard much more ire directed towards Jerry than the AI itself, even after the latter's responsibility for our imprisonment was made clear.
