Ever wanted to have CR with a character and wasn't sure how to get them to cross paths? Wanted a dating app so you can hook up with hot people? Wanted to just find friends because you're a lonely bastard?

With the update of the tablets and the apps, we now have a dating / friendship app called OKCINDR! Players can use it as they please for the two months that it's up -- just imagine that they're profiles to swipe right on and everything. The idea is to encourage CR that may be difficult to get with characters who may or may not be interested in events / posts / logs / other network posts.

So, on January 2nd, characters randomly look back at their tablets to see the following:

This month, if players reset their profile, they will have a list of questions to answer:

- What is the maximum amount of sheep you have counted when trying to fall asleep?
- Is it harder to forgive yourself, or to forgive others?
- How strongly do you feel that the past defines a person?
- What is your dream?
- Why would an android's dream contain electric sheep? Are they particularly drawn to livestock animals?
- If you could return to one specific moment in your life, would you?
- How do you wake up from a dream?
- Please
- Wake up
- You must wake up

Players, of course, are able to ignore this message. However, if a character wouldn't fill it out but a player would like to participate... the profile mysteriously resets itself. There may even be responses sent from Character A to Character B without Character A actually doing anything, if you'd like! This is a completely opt-in scenario! [ seeing that, charles makes an impressed face, a kind of oh, she's for real, damn in just one expression. ]

What, they wouldn't? That's right shitty. [ a pause. ] How'd you end up in that one?

[The bartender sternly informs her that if she wants three whiskeys, she'll have them one at a time; Shaw shrugs and accepts, taking a long pull of the first drink when it arrives.]

Kidnapped, tortured, manipulated.

[She lists them off like grocery list items, fingers drumming against her glass.]

[ charles, almost about to argue that one is for him (even though it isn't) and that she should get at least the two at once, is promptly distracted by the calmly delivered list, and grips the edge of the bar tightly. ]

... Shit. [ and there's certainly follow-up questions here... but first, ]

But you made it through, yeah? [ he doesn't quite smile, but his look does soften. ] That's pretty amazing. You're really strong, Shaw.

[For a certain definition of making it through, she supposes. If she really is out. If this really is real.]

You don't have to feel sorry for me.

[She says, downing half her first glass in one go.]

I don't.

[ well, not in the sort of sense where he'd be... pitying her? no, he mostly feels angry that she's had to go through something so unfair. ]

I meant what I said. You're really strong. It makes me really angry to think you had to go through it all in the first place... but it's not making me feel sorry for you. It just — [ a shrug, a faint smile, ] Makes me respect you more, I guess.

[Shaw studies him for what might be an uncomfortably long time before she responds. She doesn't mean it to be hostile, nor is she disbelieving of him, exactly - she's just trying to drum up the appropriate response for a situation she's never been good at.

He's glad she's safe, he thinks she's strong, he respects her. It should be easy. And yet.]

[She says slowly.]

I, uh-- really, I appreciate it. If it helps, most of the people who were complicit are probably dead now.

[incorrigibles]

[ for a moment, he isn't sure if he's mistepped somehow — said something wrong, offended her despite his attempts not to do that... but no, it's just her struggling with words, and when she thanks him, he breaks into a bright smile. ]

Anytime. [ he means every single thing he said, so really, anytime!

and then, as he takes in the fact that the people who did that to her are dead... the smile drops into something sharper, his eyes flashing once. ]

Good. [ he means that, too. because as tight a lid as he's keeping on his anger, at all times... sometimes it does seep through. ]

[Shaw notices stuff like this, even when it's quick or subtle; it makes her grin against the lip of her glass.]

No wonder Root likes you.

[She's seen that sort of ruthless rage on Root's face before. She knows how tamped-down Root can keep her own anger.]

[ this is one of the few times he's ever actually shown it, even a small bit of the rage he keeps chained down — to shaw, here, and to octavian, once, about the man who'd killed him.

he tilts his head and shrugs. ]
