I've never been a sister before. I've never been anything to anyone before.
When we met, we didn't get along. I don't want to ruin it now.
How do I be a good sister? Is there something I could study?
[ surely assuming Aloy is too much of a hermit to use the network and doesn't need to be locked out of the post is not going to bite her later. ]

It is not hard. It requires listening and unconditional support.

Trust and patience will get you very far. Are you the big sister or the little sister?

Ah, in that case, what providence! The younger siblings are permitted to make more mistakes. My sisters and I had nothing in common when we met, but we reached an accord eventually. You might try to find common ground!

It would depend on your own idea of it, and your sibling's idea of it. Being a good sister means way different things to different people.

[ it's not any less subjective but listen sometimes you're a clone grown in total isolation and family is a sitcom tv concept ]

[ .. maybe that's not as simple as Ange is making it sound, considering the danger involved, but-- look, Ange thinks that aspect of it is easier than the social aspect! ]
I could know. I have a big brother who gets himself into trouble constantly. It's really troublesome.

You got a sibling now? Sweet! That's totally awesome.
It's not exactly something you can study from a book. LOL! But if anything, you should study your sibling. I feel one of the keys is being there for each other. And if you try to take the effort to really understand your sibling, that can go a long way! Especially if you start off on the wrong foot.

I've watched recordings of nearly her entire life...I suppose I could go through those again and study them.

Oh. Now that's a tool most siblings don't have access to! I'm sure it can help, but be careful with it. I think she'd want you to be cool with her privacy too.

I've already watched it. Is that bad?

No, I don't think so. The important thing is to be there for them.

That makes you her little sister, then. (Even if you're grown.)
I think one important duty of younger siblings is not to let their elders take themselves too seriously. At least that's how I always saw it... I don't think my brother always agreed.

not really the best person to ask on how to be a good sister, but...
love them unconditionally. love them like there's no tomorrow. accept their flaws, and who they want to be.
