I'm usually barefoot because I see through my feet

Ethlyn thought I could try putting some nails in the soles so I can still be in contact with metal to the ground around the leather

i am no cobbler, however as far as i am aware every shoe in my world has been made with leather and nails. i am certain that the people working at the tailor can be helpful for you.

Ethlyn checks on my feet every day to make sure I don't actually lose a toe, and she found these old timey shoes in a book that have nails in the soles. Maybe I can feel something through them.

So it sounds as if you desire something that is durable but you can still feel a sensation through. The nails are quite an old-fashioned approach. [says the guy who basically wears sabatons and a gauntlet like he has ZERO ROOM to talk]

I'd recommend leather as well, if you can. I'm afraid beyond that, I couldn't assist much.

Do you feel as though you need shoes?

I hate shoes, [ she says bluntly, ] but if it keeps my feet from falling off, I'm happy. Somebody said there's a townie I should be able to work with, so I'll check them out.

It's gonna take some practice, but in theory I should be able to feel through them if my feet are in contact with the other side of the nails.

The insides should have lining to help, in addition to having the sabatons made of high alloy steel. It isn't immune to cold, but it is resistant.

That's kind of the whole problem, buddy.

I can't sense anything through cloth or leather or other materials that used to be alive at one time. That's why I usually don't wear shoes.

It might also be worth asking your friend Spock if there are metal-based insulators he could suggest? We have many intelligent minds here, after all.

Yeah, yeah. I'll ask him. Usually I drag Kakashi around with me to light fires for me, but it'd be nice not to have to rely on that.

I've never lived anywhere that gets this cold before.

There are places that get even colder than this. ...However, I haven't felt the cold in a regular way in awhile. [so like, he forgets people need things to not freeze]
