[Well, well. Look at that, Richard is actually using video feed instead of the usual text when addressing the network. He's indoors, sitting in front of big wooden table and there is stern yet controlled expression on his face. And when he speaks there is an air of noble dignity to his voice:]

Greetings, my fellow Chosen. My name is Richard Plantagenet. Some of you know who I am either from organizing the communal training sessions and from the Inn. However, I am sad to inform you that this time I am not here with such pleasant news as hosting a new party.

I believe it is unnecessary to go through the recent events in detail, we all were there and have had even someone to step forward to claim responsibility for the horrors of the prolonged night. This has now been the second violent threat against our city that I have witnessed. And from what I have heard from the veterans of this world there has been several more in the past. And I don't know about the rest of you but I think we have been left vulnerable for far too long.

So, I'll keep this as brief as possible.

I wish for anyone who is capable to come forward and join me in forming a defensive body that will be ready to respond to crises and other adversaries that we might face. There is a lot to do around the city, from strengthening our defenses, to find alternative communication solutions. Relying solely on these devices clearly has proven out to be faulty.

Of course, I'll continue to train self-defense, the swordmanship, archery and basic survival skills to anyone who is willing to learn. However, the invitation is open to all, whether you are fighter or not. There will be needing healers, those with more technical knowledge and who're fluent in science. I am well aware of my own weakness in that area -- after all, I am from the time period that could be considered 'medieval.' [God, how he hates that word.] Likewise people who are skilled strategists and have experience in leadership are welcomed. No helping hands will be turned away.

The last time I approached you all with similar proposition, I was met with suspicion that I was trying to form an army. However, I swear to you that it is not the case here. I am not looking for training soldiers nor positioning myself above the rest of you. I am merely asking for your help with ensuring making Aldrip safer to all of us.

There are already existing factions and those who'd rather keep their work private. But as long as we are separated and working without proper communication among ourselves we are no better than headless chicken running around. We are strongest when we are together. I for one, will be doing my own part to make sure there'll be no more unnecessary bloodshed among our numbers, with or without your help.

Thank you all for your time.

If you're forming a group to defend the city, I'll help.

And I believe that my teammates would want to as well. [Has he asked any of them yet? No, but guess he'll cross that bridge when it happens!]

[There's a moment when Scott seems to tense up, the movement subtle and maybe even difficult to tell through the tablets. It doesn't last long either, with the mutant letting out a slow breath before nodding with conviction. It's just... he's still getting used to this whole leader thing, people having expectations of him.]

The X-Men are supposed to help protect the people around them, mutant or not. Most of us are from different timelines, but we all believe that.

[Oh, so it was Morph that told Richard about the X-Men... he's kind of glad that he probably doesn't have to fully get into the details then. Mostly because of the entire team, he's the only member that really hasn't been on official missions back home and everything, but he's going to keep that to himself.]

We have powers when other people don't. [Maybe it's less of that in this world, but the whole thing still applies.] It would be dumb if we didn't use them to do good.

The Danger Room, huh? That's fine. [He's a little surprised that Rogue and Morph are letting others use the X-Men training room like that, but it's a nice kind of surprise. Maybe that really means they've warmed up to the people around here, especially since Rogue mentioned the whole... letting innocent people die before. Also something he doesn't want to bring up--]

It's a good place to train, since it can adapt different simulations. [...] I know you mentioned communication and during the Dark Hour, my teammate Quentin, was able to keep me connected with others through his telepathy.

Yeah, we don't.

[Totally agreeing with Richard!!]

It's not a bad idea. [He's still a little surprised, but Scott's on board with this. Guess that mansion technically belongs to Morph and Rogue, so... maybe they have the final say anyway? Even though he's 'the leader?' Scott never thought about it too much.]

Quentin can probably explain it better, but he's able to connect our minds. Send each other messages without worrying about technology going out. I don't have a range of how many people he can handle at once, but he's good at what he does.

[Can he just go back to playing with Whitey--]

Another telepath? I'm not familiar on who that may be, but when it comes to Quentin, I promise that he would be able to ensure that same level of privacy. Probably even more.

[Quentin's one of the biggest assholes he knows, but Scott also 100% believes in his mutant powers.] It's pretty much his thing.

[:(]

Haven't heard of soul resonance before. [It sounds interesting enough though. Scott's interested in hearing more about that.] But yeah, we'd be reliant on him. The idea would be to make sure that he doesn't get knocked out when he's connecting us. Luckily, he doesn't need to be near the group for his telepathy to work.

[Put Quentin as backup far away, it's fine.]

Starting to get an open mind about magic now? Although, with us mutants, we don't use magic and witchcraft. We're born with these powers.

[Might as well be clear about that. Not that Scott thinks that magic should be discriminated against, but he wants to be honest what mutants are too.]

He can normally hold his own, but having that extra backup for him would be good. [Even if Quentin would bitch endlessly about it. He'll deal.]
