if we exist in both realities, those back home do not even consider us missing. Another version of us, our true selves, is still with them. Back home, we will remain blissfully unaware of any lived experiences in this world. In that case, the versions of us here likely vanish entirely once we seem to leave this place. We simply cease to be, just as any other deleted code would.

I suppose in that situation, the real question would be how we consider ourselves as individuals. Even if we are merely code, does that matter? If I have learned anything while here, it is that there are many varying opinions on the matter. In the end, you really have to decide for yourself what that may mean.
