[The video opens to a teenager with a half buzz cut, half shoulder length blonde hair, and a mischievous look on her face. The room is dark, but even in the darkness, the shimmer of dozens of balloons of all colors can be seen behind her. When she starts talking, it's a whisper.]

So today's Peter's 17th birthday, so we're going to surprise him.

[She spins the camera, and zooms in on the sleeping Peter. He's flopped haphazardly on the bottom bunk of a bunkbed, limbs in all different directions, and yep, he's absolutely snoring right now. Gwen's giggles can be heard even before she turns the camera back on herself, but then she places the tablet down in a spot that can catch a full view of him and the room, then approaches the bed quietly. She's got a small device in her hand, and as she sits on the edge of the bed, she pushes the button. Suddenly, half a dozen confetti cannons explode, littering the entire room with the colorful plastic.]

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PETER!!!

(To be awaken so gently... A number of things happen, all very quick - one is that he jumps out of the bed, but webs to the ceiling, where he sticks to, his Iron Spider Suit embracing his figure before he notices all the confetti-- and he drops from the ceiling with goggled eyes on a sleepy face, before a waterfall of laughter leave him, the suit retracting to leave him in his pajamas.)

Very good, I've definitely been got-- oh, you're filming?! Uh, I guess-- Should we invite people to come watch movies here? Or, well, somewhere... Else, because like, we can't host more than 2, so I guess-- Ah, we'll figure it out.

[Gwen's laughter fills the room the second Peter's awake, especially when the spider-suit appears. It was perfect. She's still laughing as she moves to grab her tablet, spinning the camera to face her again.]

We'll be having a bad movie marathon at the club building today, so everyone feel free to join us! We'll have some soda and popcorn, but if you want any other snacks, you're on your own. Thanks for watching! And make sure you send Peter the most obnoxious birthday wishes today!

But hey, happy birthday! And no, you're definitely real? Let's just say I understand what it's like to get a lot of bad press.

It's probably just a dimensional thing? I've met some Spider-Men that were older. We're just on the younger end of the spider-people scale.

Hey, there's more than one? That's pretty cool! And you know, uh, I might've just assumed. About the age thing. [yeeep they sound pretty embarrassed right then.]

Do you not read the newspaper? Well, don't worry about it. I'm with the X-Men up in Westchester, so we're kind of like distant neighbors!

Um. Well, I can think of two that were in their twenties? And another that was like. Late thirties? But now I know of four of us that are teenagers, and I'm not really sure how to quantify ages of pigs, so that still averages out to...20ish? [Yes she sure did just make up a bunch of numbers in her head and do the math on the spot. Just nerd things.]

Oh, does J. Jonah Jameson not talk crap about you constantly? Lucky. [..Everyone did think she killed the Peter Parker in her world, so. Bad press. Whoops.]

Yeah, sorry, no idea who the X-Men are. At least, other than what Scott and Kurt have told me here. I'm assuming you know them?

I mean, no? I have normal press? They usually talk about the Avengers like, way more than me.

And yeah, I'm with her, man. Mutants don't exist for me either, but I know about it because of Scott, right, so there's a world where the Avengers and X-Men coexist? Insane...!

You... don't have mutants? [Yeah, Morph sounds pretty disturbed about that one. Maybe there's an innocent reason, but the implications are... bad.]

Uh, yeah, Scott and Kurt are from different timelines, but we're talking about the same team. There's definitely something to that idea about differing ages.

[arachnerina]

Not like...naturally? We both got our powers from mutations, but it wasn't something we were born with?

[She figures that doesn't count, so. Nope. No mutants.]

Scott told me some of his friends from home were here, but from different timelines. It's weird, right?

[spidermenaces]

Yeah, I was going to say, yeah, if there are mutants, they are unknown to the public and stuff.

[mightymorphin]

That could be it, sure. Staying hidden would avoid a lot of problems.

[And there was just no way of knowing, so they didn't want to immediately jump to the worst conclusion.]

Yeah, different timelines takes some getting used to. Seeing my teammates as teenagers has been kind of fun? But I also don't want to spoil them about their futures too much. Especially since I don't know if they're going to get the same future at all.

[spidermenaces]

They won't have the same future, though, it's already different since they're here, right, so basically if we go back home as we are here, then technically, it's another timeline already, right, because being here is changing what they'll do at home because they have different moments behind them, so, uh, basically, you won't really spoil anything, because it won't be them exactly, you know?

[mightymorphin]

[There's just. A pause as Morph tries to process all of that.]

Sorry, I don't speak mini-genius. Do you have the Cliffs Notes version?

[spidermenaces]

It isn't them. They're in Aldrip. It changes the future.

[arachnerina]

That's still a big 'if', though. We don't know for sure that we'll remember any of this when we leave, or if time is really passing at home while we're here.

[It wasn't something she had really considered until Jim's crewmate and friend showed up here, from his future. It put into question what was really happening in their worlds while they were here. Was time really passing? Clearly the Council had the power to pull them from different timelines and dimensions, it didn't seem too impossible that they could just go back to the moment they left.]

I had one person tell me that we won't remember this place when we go home... but that was just the one, and I don't know how or where they heard it.

[Even Morph knows that a single person isn't much of a sample size. And how would you figure out something like that in the first place?]

But thanks for clearing that up. It's good to know I won't mess up someone's timeline just by getting chatty.

Yeah, that's that. Blab away. Besides, your timeline won't be like theirs.

Apparently, I get married, divorced, out of shape, and taken into a whole new timeline in... Another timeline. And I can't do any of that, actually.

Wow, really? The you in other timelines keeps busy, huh? But never say never, I'm sure you'll get married some day!

I have no idea what other me's might be doing. Neither of the kids from other timelines had met me before. But no news is good news, right?

I mean, I think it might be. I don't know. To me, it kinda makes sense that there are many roads we can go in, right, so it can be bad, can be good, but you just won't be that exact self, I guess?

That makes sense to me, too. For all I know, this Scott's going to end up more rebellious than mine - and it'd probably be good for him.

His codename's Cyclops! Or it's going to be. I know an adult version of Kurt, too. They're both with the X-Men.

An adult version of Kurt? How is he? I don't know him too well but I think he's cool.

His codename's Nightcrawler. He just joined the team so I don't know the adult version of him all that well, but he's pretty much the nicest person I know? And he's also a priest.

How does it feel to see the teen versions?

Honestly I never would've expected them to act like that when they were younger, but it turns out they're pretty cool kids. Knowing they're healthy and more-or-less happy here counts for a lot too.
