@spiderman (an invitation to all)

(the boy and his vlogger knack are back, and this time, the stem club room is not half as empty as it used to be. he turns the video on, a little chuckle escaping him as he casually walks up a wall, until he's upside-down standing on the ceiling.)

Hello, Aldrip! I, uh, meant to totally do this a little while ago, but you know how it is, right? Totally crazy, super insane, this whole Gnosia thing that went down! Unbelievable, right? I'm still figuring things out in this place, and it seems like it's things that just happen sometimes? First that staircase that never ended, and now this, I'm not sure what to expect-- oh, right, anyway, so! This is the STEM Club - Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics!

(introductions for each of the stem members roll out, and can be found in the comments.)

Well, Aldrip, we have several projects ongoing here, all very science-y, so - we can definitely use all the help we can get, so if you wanna give us something new to make, or help us, well, come meet us at the Clubs building, go straight, then straight, more straight, then left, then... Then it's right, and you'll see a laboratory. It's us, okay? Knock and we will be with you.

Uh, we're out!

the country of Genosha used them to keep a mutant workforce for a while, but that was before Magneto kicked out all the bad guys there. then the AI that made the Sentinels went nutso and we destroyed that too. recently it was uhhh a super advanced Sentinel from the future that came back to our time and infected a technopath to create a cyborg that wanted to make a 'utopia' where mutants were enslaved and used for labor, again. like the original Genosha but worldwide.

so yeah! Sentinels suck.
mightymorphin: (C; running through hell)

you mean there's an entire country you don't have?? weird!

it's one of the things we deal with, yeah. usually we're either trying to help mutants or fighting the ones that decide to use their powers to be bad guys. it's not all extreme stuff like that last one is.

robots are already bad, and an AI that can think for itself is even worse! I hope that one turned out okay.
mightymorphin: (C; what would you trade the pain for?)

huuuh that one's not ringing any bells for me, but I'm not a geography whiz or anything...

yep! the whole point of Xavier's institute is to teach mutants how to use their powers. and for most of us, graduating means joining the team.

sometimes just handing a defeat is the best you can do. especially dealing with something that crazy smart.
mightymorphin: (C; i used to be a real go-getter)

then I guess it must not exist for me after all. I haven't heard about any huge tech problems running around other than what the X-Men have dealt with lately.

yeah sticking together's really important for us, and there's a lot to gain from it. if you enhanced folks decided to try it sometime I'm sure it would work out great. too many superheroes try to do it solo as it is, and that has some serious risks.
mightymorphin: (C; and if you need somebody)

maybe it's confusing, but you have to admit, it's never boring!

you really oughta pitch the idea to someone and see if you can't get the ball rolling. at the very least it's great to be able to train against people who can throw a lot of unique obstacles at you. I'd ask the Professor whenever we can get home, but I'm pretty sure he'd want to keep our school mutants-only for a few reasons.

........ kid, I'm not THAT old! I dropped out of college for the superhero biz!

it still benefits adults to keep up on their training anyway. no one falls out of the tree with perfect expertise of their powers. you could just ask 'em to help you with training, though.
mightymorphin: (C; I need the sound of crowds)

you think having a little college under my belt is old? you're not secretly from some sort of Logan's Run dystopia, are you?

and they're super busy with what, their regular 9-to-5? are their desk jobs more important than saving people?
mightymorphin: (C; and i've been putting your name to it)

it's a book AND a movie! Farrah Fawcett is in it!

anyway, I just think it's a bad idea for these people to get complacent. anyone who assumes they're already at their peak is going to get a rude awakening sooner or later. plus teamwork is generally helped by, you know, knowing the strengths and weaknesses of everyone else in the team.
