Has anybody been having problems with their Qu-- powers not working?

[He is trying very, very hard to make this sound like perfectly ordinary curiosity. Unfortunately for him, he's not doing a very good job at it today; the question comes out in a rush, and there's a raised pitch to his voice. Izuku is Not Fine right now and even he can't hide it.]

If so, has it started working again? Or been an...an intermittent thing?

[Fandaniel has not experienced anything wrong with his powers, but his memories have been lapsing. Some keep sinking while others rise, giving him a migraine from the confusion.

[Oh having a connection drawn to sentencing is incredibly distressing. All attempts at calm are right out the window.]

I haven't been called in for sentencing yet! And I don't think I've done anything to make anyone mad...

[But now he's not certain. He's aware of at least one person who has had things done to their powers as punishments before, and now he's worried that the rules changed right under him and he messed up completely unaware.]

This place...does things to people, sometimes. I thought maybe this was one of them, and other people might know more? [Izuku why did that turn into a question.]

Were I in your position I would go to the City Hall and demand answers from the Council. Surely they know what has happened.

[Sometimes no one having an answer is an answer itself, even if it's not one Izuku's very happy about getting this time around.]

I don't think that would work. I mean, I've never tried, but the Council hasn't given a lot of answers about anything since they showed up.

[That, and the fact that he's already used to talking about One For All in general with Kacchan, is more than enough to get unfettered honesty out of Izuku in this moment. If the blond hadn't locked the channel, he'd have done it himself just for this.

Which means it's crystal clear when he speaks that the distress in the initial post was Izuku putting in effort to sound even that barely composed. Without it, he sounds scared.]

[Katsuki can feel some emotion building up in him, a twisting clawing knot in his upper belly, just under his sternum. If Izuku doesn't have One for All anymore...

It shouldn't matter. Izuku has always been the quirkless wonder. But not even Katsuki can deny that things have been different for them since Izuku gained One for All, that their relationship has developed into something different than it ever has been before.

He doesn't want that to go back to how it was.]

You can't channel it anymore, or just can't use it to do attacks?

[His voice is a little more hoarse than it was even the last reply and he realizes his eyes are stinging slightly. Stupid.]

It's-- I-- Kacchan, I don't know how to explain this!

[It's not something Kacchan would know, or even something that Izuku has thought about very much. What the sensation of Quirklessness feels like, compared to having one. Especially with how easy it is to not notice the difference until it makes itself known; receiving One For All hadn't made him feel different, only actually using it had.]

You know how Aizawa-sensei using his Quirk feels, right? Your Quirk is there, but you just can't touch it?

[At least that's how he'd describe it. He really, really hopes he and Kacchan are on the same page there.]

I don't think so? [Izuku how are you not-- nevermind, it's Expi, this time it makes sense.] I haven't done anything I don't normally do. That's why I want to know if it's happening to...to anyone else.

[Given some of the crap this place pulls, temporarily turning off a bunch of random people's powers wouldn't surprise him in the slightest. He...might also be hoping someone else will be able to tell him it really is temporary. He would've just suffered in (relative) silence otherwise.]

[ He figures if they wanted, they could de-power all of the Chosen at any given moment. Weird that they don't, but no point in trying to see logic where there clearly isn't any. ]

... Whenever they do that kinda shit, at least it's temporary. Try in a week or two and your "friend" should be fine.

[That comment gets a...well, not a laugh, really. Closer to a punched-in-the-gut wheeze. He's not sure what's more concerning, the idea that he somehow got the Council's attention without doing anything differently or that they might screw with random people unprovoked.

[He knows sometimes people have Quirks or abilities become weaker, or not work the same, but that's different from not working at all.]

[Could easily be a coincidence, with a time gap like that. At least he doesn't feel completely alone now.]

One time a group of people got, um...cursed? I think that's the best way to put it. And sometimes this place does things to everyone. So I thought [Read: hoped.] this was another one of those.

[The idea that it might not be -- that he's managed to get One For All destroyed in some way -- is still haunting him. But having that reminder does help, a bit. Sometimes just hearing someone else say it makes it easier to believe than trying to convince yourself.]

I think it's perfectly fine to be concerned, especially when it happened all of a sudden.

[Aether had his powers sealed by a literal god before, then got put into 500 year nap. He understands being confused and worried when weird things like that happen.]

There's no need for you to apologize. But are you sure? Maybe you need some company? I don't have much to do today anyway and sometimes just talking to someone else makes everything a bit more bearable.

[That's worrying, crap. Quirks are kind of the closest thing to mutations and if Izuku is having problems... he wonders if that's a sign. Not to mention that he's just concerned for his friend. It's clear that he's struggling to hold everything in and while Scott wants to be someone with good news, he isn't going to lie.]

[Which means he's been trying to not spiral for about that long, too. Just the thought that he might have lost such an important Quirk, when everyone back home is relying on him having it...it's hard not to get trapped in that.]
