[Zack's pretty decent with tech since he needed so much of it for his previous job, so the charms are fairly easy for him to get used to. He just hasn't had much use of it since his arrival.

However, his conversation with Cloud hasn't left his mind so he wants to share it with the others.]

Uh, so, my name's Zack Fair. Before I got here, I was part of an organization that did a lot of fighting and protecting. It's been sort of peaceful here, but I know there're monster attacks that happen outside of town and a few of them have gotten pretty close from time to time.

And, well, some people weren't so helpful during our food shortage and the trading trip with the people of Rumpitur. If we want to keep good relations with the native people of Aldrip in particular and Expiation as a whole, we should probably be more involved in trying to keep the peace. I'm not the best person to run something like that, but I'm all for helping if someone else could. Guess it just depends on how many others are interested in helping out with this.

[He rubs at the back of his head, feeling a bit self-conscious as the charm continues to film him.]

I dunno. It was just a thought. If you're up for something like this, let me know. We can talk.

Yeah, I do. And I'd like to avoid starting one here if we can.

[Zack knows that sigh and he gives one of his own before replying again.]

Maybe it's not reason enough for you, and that's fine. I'm not asking people to do anything against their will. It'd be pointless. But, I'm sure there are others here that want to make sure that we don't make enemies of the natives. And so policing ourselves is the best solution, especially if we can do it and help out the towns that we've seen so far.

Me? I don't care. [ Blunter than he'd usually be, but whatever. He can give up a little. ] I retired so that I don't have to care. Maybe there are plenty of others that do and I wish you joy of it. But not everyone appreciates being policed.

No one likes to be policed. I get it. It sucks. But it's better to have some people out there making sure we're all safe and not causing trouble than letting chaos reign supreme.

I'd rather that we could trust everyone to keep themselves in check, but there were people stealing from the natives, and that leads to a lot of trouble and unneeded fighting.

Presumably that's what whoever brought us here is for.

[ Sentencing, corralling, whatever.

But he gets it, much as he's still convinced that someone's going to eventually blow up spectacularly. Not like he has any better ideas, anyway. ]

So you'll do it if no one else will, hm?

Yeah, maybe, but I'm going to be honest and say that I don't really trust them to do anything.

[He's not a big fan of being accused of crimes, considering how he lived his life back on Gaia. He saw how that turned out and he doesn't really give a crap what the people that think he deserves to be punished when he was murdered. They can go make friends with Sephiroth's sword.]

I will lead it if no one else wants to do it, sure. It's a thankless, hard job, but it's better than just letting things happen. I'm not a sit back and wait sort of guy.

Even if waiting might bring more information?

[ He gets the urge, sure. This place has been strangely uneventful even aside from the spooky woods, at least compared to Zhou Zishu's experience. But recklessness is probably how they got people stealing in the first place. ]
