Interesting. Does that include these crimes we've been assigned?

Hmmm... I don't know, it feels like somebody is doing that, but maybe not like it makes sense all the time. Some peoples' crimes are just ridiculous.

And when people get sentenced it's never, you know, awful.

[Internally, it's a bit frustrating for him, because if they bothered to even get the sins right, Vincent wouldn't even mind paying the penance for it. But it's not something he'll bring up to Toph.]

So, nothing seems particularly planned, just reactionary at best?

[ Toph is wise and mature and often speaks and acts well beyond her years, but one way in which she's absolutely still a child is that she's never committed a wrong grave enough to merit the word penance. She barely even feels guilty, and that tends to be when she hurts a friend's feelings. ]

I don't know if I'd go that far, but I really don't think there's some big evil mastermind behind it all. I've met one of those and he did a lot more talking about how great he was.

Not all masterminds consider themselves evil, exactly. Still, I'd like to know why we're actually here. Though I'm sure everyone has the same sentiment.

Yeah yeah, they're also doing it to spread goodness and prosperity or whatever. I've heard the spiel.

No clue on that one. Some people have tried to find out, but it's mostly just caused us all problems.

Knowing a motivate would help. Not so much at the detriment of others. Someone mentioned something about trying to blow up town hall?

Who knows what those kind of people are really thinking? [ She certainly doesn't care, whatever it is. ]

Yup. Pretty sure that's what caused us all to lose our memories and our powers. As far as I can tell, there wasn't even a good reason to blow up the town hall in the first place! We don't know enough about what's going on to pick a target.

[ Not that she's been grumpily telling people to cool it or anything. ]
