anon text ➡

[he doesn't have a whole monologue written out today, but he does have something he's curious on pointing out.]

It seems as if the changes in this world aren't just cosmetic. It's learned how to protect itself, thanks to those that believe in explosions to get their point across.

[cough]

Just in case one of you decides to try City Hall again.

[we're not going to talk about how he already tried it ok, just trust the anon on the network-]

Let's be clear. By experiments, does that mean you already tried?
melnik: (this train ain't bound for glory)

[ He's not so sure it does! But okay, what other experiments could there be? ]

I can see why you didn't want to admit that with your name attached. So, what happened? It wasn't effective? Rebuilt itself?

[ Wait... so he actually did it twice?! ]

What is with you people and the obsession with blowing things up? It didn't seem like it helped much the first time!

Well, even if you found this out incidentally, the information is concerning. Is it just the city hall building that is immune from destruction or does this block extend to using heavy firepower completely?

[ That is less a question he expects him to directly be able to answer and more putting what he is wondering now out there. ]

Not everything can be justified in the name of an experiment. I want to understand the boundaries of this place just as much as you do, but if they rob us of our memories permanently, there will be no room to experiment again. I know the damage is done. Just think on that the next time you try to make a mess on purpose.

[ Will he do that? Probably not... but he had to at least say it. ]

I hadn't heard about that. Was it in a neighboring city? If they are just responding to the influx of bombings, then that is one thing... but if we need to defend ourselves, then we have a problem.

[ Well, he has no idea how this person thinks they know that, but— ]

Let's hope you're right.

[ The power outage though... This is the first he's heard of its exact cause. From the reception when they cut the lights, it's not the world's biggest surprise, but it does kind of cement his point about how obsessed this group seems to be with destruction. ]

You've got to be kidding me. We've really set ourselves up for success here. Unless we can organize ourselves, it seems foolish to expect these reckless displays of insurgency won't continue.
melnik: (i knew i couldn't do it again)

[ He didn't expect this response and not only because the person he's speaking to has admitted to experimental terrorism. ]

That is my experience so far as well. Still, whether they are interested in leaving or not, you would think we could at least all agree that we do not want to live under this unpredictable rule.

But people may not listen unless there is already a plan of action.
melnik: (every face it looks the same)

I am following so far. Any suggestions?

I have been thinking about it myself.
[ Understatement. It's basically all he can think about. ] The obvious link to those in charge is their henchman, Jerry, but if those theories about all of this being a simulation are on the right track, it would be a waste of time betting that he has anything to lose.

[ On the other hand, if they're wrong... ]
