[ The video comes on easy, Peter's perfectly in frame and everything. He knows how to do a holo-call. Here's a blond-haired, blue-eyed Earther that you may have seen either helping at the inn's bar or wandering around town without much of a clear goal. He looks excited now. ]

Hey there, fellow off-worlders! How's everybody doing? The name's Peter Quill, a.k.a. Star-Lord. [ For drama's sake, he flashes his visor on. ] Former space pirate and current, uh... ad... venturer? Beast hunter? I'm actually thinking of starting up a monster-hunting venture-thing, so if anybody else wants to try out monster hunting with me, let me know!

You gotta prove your creds before we get started though -- I don't want anybody hurting themselves on my watch. [ He flips his mask back off, revealing his cheery face once again. ] So, how about to start, you can join me and explore those caves I keep hearing about? It's up north of town, Lorentia Cave. No pressure on joining, but if nothing else, there's supposed to be gems and treasure in there. And I dunno about you guys, but I never turn down a chance to find treasure.

Plus, hey, if we're really lucky, we might get to see a dragon! At least, that's what they say...

[ He's being more ominous than strictly necessary, but he's just trying to sell this idea, see, sometimes that means a little showmanship. ]

Anyway, that's pretty much all I had. Star-Lord out!

Maybe I'll figure it out in our first excursion. [ Because she's definitely proven her creds already!!! Right? ]

[ Cruel fate, but also pretty typical for Peter to outsource ideas when he can't think of any himself... ]

Oh, totally! You can be whatever lord you want. Hell, we can sew it on the back of your jacket, too!

[ "Pipe Lord" is maybe not as cool as anything she could come up with, so he's gonna leave that in her wheelhouse. But he's saying he can sew, and he'd be willing to do that for her. Because he's a big nerd. ]

Yeah! I always like to think that adventure makes for the best inspiration. You'll have time to figure it out.

[ She's got super-strength, she's got the creds in spades. ]

[ Her jacket...? This is her school jacket, and it's probably in bad shape. She doesn't know about that, but that is a pretty cool skill. She could stand to do more girly things like that, probably. ]

In the meantime... [ Lorentia Cave. ] When're you going?

[ Space teaches you valuable skills... Especially when you love to accessorize. ]

Probably in a couple days? Wanna give people time to get their scut together before we go for it.

[ Just because he doesn't plan super ahead doesn't mean other people don't, he understands this. ]

Got it.

[ This makes sense. There is a pause. ]

Maybe I can convince Date to come.

[ No. ]

Oh, yeah! Your dad, right?

[ Peter has met him now! And he accused Peter of hitting on Mizuki! Whoof. But it's ok if your dad is a little weird, Mizuki!! Peter still supports you. ]

Bring 'im along! The more the merrier.

[usarinpa]

[ He's a lot weird. It's okay, you can just say it. Mizuki almost regrets the suggestion immediately, but manages to keep from revoking it, given Peter's naturally cheery nature. Her voice is flat: ]

He's a stray that I picked up off the street.

[ Count as to how many people she's told this to: 2! Now 3.

She's still thinking about changing her last name. ]

[ Peter laughs. Honestly, whole-heartedly. ]

Hah! Oh, man. That's good.

[ He's serious? He's serious. He could see Nikki saying this about him, too. It's sweet. Date may not know what he's doing (and who does, really?) but Peter knows his way around 'saying awful things about the people you care about.' So that's what he's going to take this as. ]

Yeah, he's a little eccentric, huh? [ Weird. ] I can see how you'd wanna build your own rep before he shows up and messes with it.

[ Which is being very kind. So kind. Peter really tries to see the best in all people. ]

[ SHE'LL BE HERE ALL WEEK, apparently. Was it supposed to be a joke? Maybe. Probably. Mizuki can be seen shaking her head, and though she'd deny it, there is a fair amount of affection behind the gesture. ]

He's something, alright... I'd like to see him try.

[ ...... ]

Well, whatever. Even if he doesn't come, you can count me in, okay?

[ It's fiiiine, Peter knows it comes from a place of love... whether it does or not. Peter gives her a thumbs up. ]

You know I will!

[ too bad the next time they see each other is going to be a hilarious misunderstanding :) ]
