[ The feed opens with William outdoors somewhere along the coastline. ]
Hello, everyone. I have some news regarding progress on our research of the corrupted creatures.
[ He shifts aside. Erichthonios can be seen in the background along with the corpses of some of the small octopi. One of them has been carefully dissected. ]
These creatures seem to be affected by the same sort of corruption that ruined Rumpitur's farmland. The glowing stones we've found appear to cause it to retreat so I can only assume they have some kind of magical or holy power. I think if we can find more, we can use them to fight and protect ourselves as well as the people of Expiation.
Once we've figured out how to incorporate the power of these stones into our weapons or armour, I plan to move against the creature which threatened us a month ago. The people of Rumpitur told me that it returns about once a month, so we must be ready soon.
Erichthonios here can answer more detailed questions about the corruption. Meanwhile, contact me if you would like to help fight. Thank you.

Once the deal is finalised, he looks up and spots her. ]
Oh, sorry! I didn't realise you'd arrived.
no subject
'Tis not a problem, you were occupied and I didn't want to interrupt.
[ She offers a small smile and holds out the stones. ] Shall we get to work?
no subject
[ He turns back to the blacksmith. ]
My apologies, there's one other matter... Could we borrow your forge?
[ He explains what they're trying to do. For a mercy, the latest frenzy over creating weapons and trinkets with the glowing stones makes them more amenable to William's request this time (or perhaps they're satisfied they managed to gain the upper hand in earlier negotiations) and they allow him use of one of the forges for their experiment. ]
Thank you very much! [ To Yuja: ] Come on, let's not waste any time.
no subject
I'm sure I mentioned it before, but I don't know a great deal about working a forge. [ She'd watched the smiths at work and picked up a little bit, but had no experience of her own. ] So I'll have to leave this to you.
[ She digs out a stone and holds it out for him to take. ]
no subject
[ Oops. He should have asked for someone to help them. He glances around. Everyone seems rather busy... Maybe he can copy what he remembers of seeing the dwarves work? But he doesn't want to waste the stone she's giving up. ]
Well, let's see...
[ While he's puzzling over the various tools and such, someone notices and asks if they need help. After explaining their aim, the smith offers to help melt down the stone and apply it to one of their tools. ]
--It's your stone, what do you want to apply it to? [ he asks Yuja. ]
no subject
[ Well, aren't they in quite the pickle? Yuja regrets not learning more about working a forge during her time in Kugane and Limsa both. ]
Oh, well, um... I have my daggers with me. If I'd thought about it I would have remembered to bring my sword. [ She unsheaths her daggers and holds them out. She supposes they would be better suited to receive the application of the stone given their smaller size. Still, she's much more comfortable with her sword but it can be a bit much to lug around. ]

"Miss, I might ruin the blade by trying this. Are you sure?"
no subject
It'll be fine. I don't use them that often.
no subject
If the dagger ends up unusable, he thinks, he'll commission a new one for her. Weapons aren't cheap to make. ]
...In my world, the best metalwork is done by the dwarves. There's a small population of them living in my home of Torch Port.
no subject
Dwarves, huh? [ She immediately imagines the behelmeted dwarves of the First. She supposes she could see that, though they did seem much more interested in mechanical structures. ]
I wonder if dwarves everywhere like creating things. [ Though the Source's version of "dwarves" weren't widely known for any form of craftmanship, their interests were much more varied. She wondered why that was. ]
no subject
[ It did amuse him a little to hear that the dwarves were craftsmen. He would have called it like something out of a video game if they weren't a very real existence. ]
Are yours also shorter than humans?
no subject
[ She holds out a hand around waist height though it goes up and down a couple of times to show a range. Granted, Yuja is rather short herself. ]
Their bodies are kind of round in shape with pointed ears.

[ His smile and expression grow wistful. He hopes Al and the rest are faring well without him. If, indeed, time is passing for them still. ]
no subject
[ At least, she's met more Lalafell that utilize magic than not. Those of the First, however, were more on the physical end of the spectrum. Funny how they differed. ]
You're a knight?
no subject
no subject
We do, though I think it's Ishgard that has a better organization than elsewhere.
[ Which makes sense when one knows how Ishgard has functioned. ]

[ The name doesn't give much away about it. Not like 'Whitesails' or 'Torch Port'. ]
no subject
They follow Halone and do just about everything in her name.

[ The blacksmith is just about done by now, and is trying to decide the best way to make use of the small amount of molten stone they have. He ends up drizzling a line of it down the blade, waiting for it to harden on one side before doing the other. ]
I think he's done.
no subject
What do you think? [ It could end up being brittle, she realizes that, but she hopes an expert would be able to say from looks alone. ]
no subject
As a weapon, I'm not sure how it will handle. But the important thing is whether it will repel the corruption, I suppose. [ To the blacksmith: ] Thank you, by the way. I really appreciate it.
[ The man nods affably enough and sets the dagger aside to cool. They can take it and test it themselves once it's ready. ]
no subject
[ After giving it ample time to cool, Yuja picks it up and tests the weight. It seems okay in her hand, but there's still the matter of whether the blade will hold up or not. ]
