006. 💥(VIDEO) ⇁ TABLET

[opheliac]

( there's an extreme close up to jinx's face when this recording starts, a zoom in on her chin and her bottom lip while she attempts to prop the device correctly so it wouldn't tip over. once she's done fiddling around with the tablet, she tilts her head lower for her eyes to lock with the camera's lens. the pinks of her pupils glisten when she holds this unsettling and quiet stare, her breathing is slow, shallow, and audible enough for the tablet's mic to pick up. and if this daunting little personal moment between her and the viewer isn't enough to make them uncomfortable, maybe the curl of her lips will. like her breathing, it dances sluggishly on her face, and there's so much poison polished over them that maybe she mixed that toxin with the lipstick she's wearing. would anyone be surprised if she did?

and what's jarring is after a few seconds, the teenager giggles sweetly and innocently while she bounces a few steps back to give the observer a full body look of her. it's a glaring contrast at what literally just transpired, but that's jinx in a nutshell! one second she's one way and the next, another. the unpredictable loose cannon through and through. as for the outfit, still not dressing winter warm appropriate apparently, but at least it's something to match the season. behind her, is a building wall that's been doodled on by no other than yours truly. jinx takes a half-skip to the left to fully reveal the drawing to the camera with enthusiasm. )

Ta-da ♪!

( she sings out, throwing her arms to gear towards the drawing with jazz hands. )

Whaddya think? The best, right?!

( but before she grants anyone a chance to speak up, the girl disappears off-screen to immediately come back with fishbones, a rocket launcher some may or may not have seen around on her person from time to time. only this time, when she holds him up, jinx tugs on a lever that controls the mouth to move up and down. when she does this, she provides a goofy voice for the machine: )

❝ Looks great, Jinx! But um... are you sure the owner of this shop is okay with you drawing on their stuff? You should always ask permission before dealing with other people's prop—❞

—Blahblahblah, whatever! THIS is the problem with you, Fishbones. You start off hot and then you fizzle out.

( and if that's not rude enough to say to her companion, she swiftly plunges him on the ground by her feet, then steps over him apathetically -- moving closer to the camera. )

But I wanna hear from all of you! Tell me how you like it or maybe give me a few pointers.

( the girl plops herself where she stood, sitting cross-legged on the ground with a keen look shining on her face. )

Shoot me, I'm all ears...!

[ Ragna lets out an annoyed groan. What is her problem, really?? It's like talking to a wall. When he wants her off his back, she insists on sticking with him, and now that he's not against it, she acts like he's telling her to piss off. If it was Jin or Saya, he'd just beat the crap out of them to settle this, but that's because he knows they can take it (and because he refuses to do silly things like talk about his feelings or some shit). With Jinx, he's... not sure if that'd work? Especially since she's been injured not too long ago. ]

Don't bother. I've changed my mind, it's staying.

[ And now he's the one sending mixed signals. Ugh, why is communication with people so hard? This is exactly why he didn't want to get attached to anyone in the first place. ]

Whatever.

( she mutters this, now looking away from the camera lens so he wouldn't see her face. except jinx isn't necessarily doing a good job when he can clear as day the hurt she's carrying. in fact, if he listens very closely, she sniffles and blinks away any tears that might be trying to sneak on pass her. )

... Is there anything else you want?

[ There's a moment of silence on Ragna's end, though judging by the faint sounds in the background, he's definitely moving around. ]

Yeah, actually. Gimme ten minutes.

[ And with that, he hangs up. But just like promised, a couple of minutes later he arrives near the shop shown in the video feed. He doesn't bother announcing his presence beyond his footsteps, and instead of a greeting, he drops the hoodie he got last summer on the girl's head. ]

Told ya you should dress better, Smurfette.

[opheliac]

( ten minutes? for wha— aaaaand he hangs up. she sighs over it and moves on to communicate with whoever else responded to her broadcast until he makes his way to her. jinx blinks over and opens her mouth to speak first, but gets interrupted by the jacket plopping on her head instead. the teen yanks it off her head in a huff, pouting towards his direction. )

Oh, shuddaup.

( she grumbles before slipping the oversize jacket on, bundling up with it as she folds her arms over her chest. )

Well?

"Well" yourself, that's my line.

[ He lets out a huff himself before plopping down on the ground next to her. He props his chin on his hand, watching her without saying anything for a brief moment. Geez, she's in a really bad mood, isn't she? He wonders if it's got something to do with her wounded pride from back when she got injured, or maybe it's because of the whole deal with snake people? Either way, the whole situation is starting to get on his nerves. ]

You gonna tell me what's gotten your panties in a twist lately, or you gonna keep sulking?

[opheliac]

I'm NOT sulking.

( she bites back quickly as she takes a seat too, cross-legged. unlike him though, she doesn't put in the effort to make eye contact, but rolls up the long sleeves so she can inspect her nails. )

I'm annoyed and bored. — There's a difference.
