[ Peter takes a moment to think about that. Whatever Fushi eats or interacts with, he can recreate and understand. That has to be pretty cool, but also pretty damn confusing. ]

Hey, take your time. You don't have to understand it, either way. I sure don't.

[ He grins. He's proud of this? ]

It took me years to figure out the other modes. So you don't gotta act tough—I seriously don't want to hurt you with these, ok? There's no arrow or nothing. They shoot plasma fire, which I mean, it won't burn you, but it hurts like flark.

What... [ Peter blinks. ] Hey, no! I don't wanna shoot you any day. Even if it won't hurt you, friends don't shoot friends, okay? That's like rule #1 of gun safety.

[ Okay, not really, though it might have been Yondu's first lesson on gun safety tbh. Lesson 1: don't shoot your friends. Lesson 2: shoot the bad guys. ]

Ah. I didn't know there were gun-safety-rules. I'm sorry, I'm just curious!

(or, well, instinctually curious. if peter had known all the very gruesome ways fushi has been maimed and is still walking and talking, well, maybe he'd see how he doesn't see that as such a bad deal!!!)

Don't sweat it, you couldn't have known! Plus, guns are pretty dangerous. You gotta learn the rules before using 'em or you could accidentally hurt yourself, never mind other people.

[ Peter would be so horrified if he knew all the gruesome ways Fushi has been hurt. He's already willing to go to bat for them, this would only steel his resolve. Instead it's now his job to talk proper gun etiquette, which is really taking him back. ]

Well... I don't know anything about guns, but... I can teach you how to use a bow, would you switch that knowledge with me then...?

[ Peter chuckles. Okay, he can see what Fushi is trying for here. It's not the same, but Peter will throw him a bone. ]

Maybe. I'm always looking to learn new stuff, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna shoot you, alright?

[ It would be wrong!!! Two can play the stubbornness game. It's sweet to think of Fushi remembering all these people who are long gone. Maybe that's what makes Peter acquiesce, at least a little bit. ]

Guns are a little more dangerous than arrows, just so you know. But the principles are pretty close to each other, so maybe one day I'll show you how to shoot.

(there's that stubborn squinting from fushi. peter!!!!!!! the sooner he knows, the better he can heal when a gun actually shoots him on purpose!!!!!! but perhaps that's on fushi for sounding insane and not actually explaining.

[ It'll make sense one day, Fushi. Just not today! Peter pets Fushi's head again, smiling victoriously. ]

I'm sure it is, buddy. But for right now, this is good enough for me.

[ Peter made a cool alien friend!! That's all he needs, really. ]

(adult-like, certainly, there's fushi showing his tongue in stubbornness, before he bumps shoulders with peter.)

... Fine, fine. You should eat. I can't eat it all, and it doesn't get back in.

[ Peter smiles, bumping him back as he grabs another pear. ]

You can just make stuff out of nothing, huh?

[ For a moment, Peter thinks about all the ways that could be exploited. Infinite units, infinite food, infinite treasure... Yeah, Fushi must be protected at all costs. Because someone meaner than Peter could take advantage of him so easily. ]

Does it go bad if you leave it, or is it like, stronger...?

It's the stimuli thing. I can't make everything -- nothing alive, and some things just won't. Can't make fire, water, things like that.

(what a good question! no one's ever asked him that before.)

Ah, it's just a normal pear. I can't create or enhance, just copy.

Gotcha. Well, if you ever need to make fire or ice, my guns can do that.

[ It's all very interesting. Peter isn't a man of science, but if he was, he'd be having a field day. ]

[ He takes a bite. It's good! And he's feeling #blessed to enjoy somewhat familiar food made in an alien way. It's really his style. ]

It'd be kinda funny if you made like, a super pear. But that's a slippery slope, I bet. Probably a good thing that the copies are just regular ol' copies.

I think... Perhaps I could? I really don't know. Blackhood said I could technically make an ocean, but I can just make a cup -- one I've seen, touched, and things like that.

(there's a moment where he looks at the food, and then back to peter.)

... Is there anything you really like to eat? Or miss? I might have had it.

Well, don't sweat it for now. You'll figure it out.

[ Is 'Black hood' the god guy? Probably a bad memory either way, so Peter will just ask another time. ]

Hmmm. [ He considers it, munching on his pear while deep in thought. ] You ever had a burger before?

... No! I don't think? Can you make one here?

(from his hand, a little skewer comes out, and fushi's teeth sink on the meat.)

[ Oooh, a skewer. That's a little weird, but Peter decides he's fine with it. ]

Ooh, probably! [ Somehow, it had not occurred to him at all. ] I'd need some bread, beef, lettuce, tomatoes... Maybe ketchup and mustard, too. And a grill to cook it all on!

[ He can see it all now... his own off-planet BBQ... ]

Hey, it might actually be fun!

We can go shopping, and we can try to make it, I think we could! I don't know what ketchup and mustard is, though. Can you make those too?

[ Hey, this is actually a cooler goal than his aimless ones, so Peter's here for it. Does Aldrip have ketchup or mustard? Maybe? Hmmm... ]

Huh... I think ketchup is just like, tomatoes and salt, mashed up together. Mustard though... it's been a while, I don't know what goes into it. It's yellow though! And kinda bitter?

[ Peter definitely doesn't know about turmeric being the main ingredient in mustard, unfortunately. ]

We can get a lot of ingredients from here, have you taste it, and then you can see if you can find the closest taste. We should do that!

(food brings people together, and mustard is a mystery to be solved. although the bitterness does not really make it that interesting...)

[ You see, Peter would legitimately do this. He is not beyond trying everything in a food stall just to find the right flavor. Even if it makes him sick afterwards.
